“We never actually had dessert,” he mumbles as he stands over me. Dropping down to his knees, I feel his tongue at my center, exploring every inch of me. The cold countertop bites my skin, but he holds me firm, his hand pressed to my stomach, holding me down.

Before I know it, fire rips through me, and I feel as if I’ve burst into flames. My body shakes, goosebumps breaking out all over my body. As I sit up, I find him watching me with unrestrained curiosity.

“Are you feeling better today?” he asks, his voice low as he licks his bottom lip.

All I can do is nod in response, still coming down.

“Good.”

Standing, Ronan grabs me, carrying me in his arms bridal-style into our bedroom, kicking the door shut, clearly not caring who hears by how hard.

I’m thrown onto the bed as he tears his clothes off, back on me in a second.

“Are you okay with me not having a—”

I shut him up with a kiss. “I know you can’t have kids. You’re good,” I confirm desperately. All I want is to feel him inside of me, filling me up.

Looking into my eyes, he takes it slow. Shows restraint.

And it feels amazing.

I let my eyes flutter shut as I moan, tipping my head back as I arch my back into him. Ronan takes the opportunity to capture my nipping between his teeth, flicking it with his tongue, and when I moan into his ear, pulling his black hair, he lets out a whimper.

And I shatter.

I shatter like a mirror.

Pieces of me lay around the room. I can be put back together again, but I’ll never look quite the same.

And right now? That’s a good thing.

“For fucks sake, Princess, just let me love you,” Ronan whispers as he continues filling me, pumping into me harder and harder. The desperation is insurmountable.

“Can you come for me again, Sydney?” Ronan all but moans, slamming into me as I wrap my legs around him, tilting my hips so he can reach deeper.

“Yes,” I whisper.

“Speak up, Princess; I want to hear you say you’re mine. I want to hear you say my name as you come. Can you do that for me?”

I can only nod, feeling it building inside of me. I’m panting, unable to catch my breath as my body shudders, my muscles tensing as my insides explode.

“Who do you belong to?” Ronan asks, his voice shaking like he’s using the very last of his restraint.

“I’m yours. I’m yours, Ronan.”

TWENTY-EIGHT

RONAN

I’ve spentyears of my life looking for a real purpose. Yet somehow, I found it in the woman next to me. This woman, the same one who stole my car and almost blew my cover, is the one thing I’m scared to lose.

And I’ve never felt anything like it. Never shared anything like it with someone. The desire to give them everything.

We use our day off to explore the ranch, and when we’re not outside looking at cows, each other. Every single moment with her is more special than the last.

But the real fun comes when she gets mouthy. I almost regret threatening her. Almost. Fucking the attitude out of her is my new favorite pastime.

“What’s that?” Sydney asks me as I take the thin bulletproof vest out from my suitcase.
