“Not only do we have possession of these weapons, I assure you we are quite well-versed in utilizing them.” With her own arms crossed under her breast, she separated her legs into a defiant stance. “Leave these premises now, and we won’t have to prove what I say is true.”

Ah, this was the opening he needed. He chuckled. “Are you threatening me, Nisba?”

“No, sub-Prince. I speak only truth. I may have been lenient with your request to have Princess Inanna fail the sacred tests in the past to protect my temple, but I will not allow you to dismantle this sacred place. Nor will I allow you to use our priestesses and nuns in your disgusting lust for power.” She reached behind her and pulled out the laser spear strapped to her back. She raised the tip in his direction. “If you don’t leave immediately, we’ll have no choice but to defend ourselves.”

Foolish bitch. “Now, Uruk.”

Without a sound, the iridescent shield vanished.

Nisba’s mouth widened as a pain-filled scream pierced the air.

Uruk’s aim was true as his own laser spear landed through the heart of the traitorous High Priestess.

She was dead before her body hit the ground.

He gave a crisp nod to Uruk as her unblinking turquoise stare gave him immense satisfaction. ”With the unfortunate passing of High Priestess Nisba, I declare the female Enheduanna as her replacement. Enheduanna, attend me.”

The female standing next to Nisba stepped over the high priestess’s body and dropped to one knee in front of him. She released the crossbow clenched in one hand. “Sire,”

Her eyes were downcast, as was proper.

“As you command.”

There were angry murmurs from the females behind her.

“Guards, take them.” Murduk ordered without taking his eyes off the posturing woman. “Enheduanna, you have done well.”

“Thank you, Lord.” Her light-blue eyes rolled to look at him. “The shield will remain down as you have ordered.”

Murduk allowed a regal nod in her direction. “Rise, High Priestess.”

The grunts and shouts of the fight between his guards and the warrior women escalated.

Keeping her eyes lowered, Enheduanna stood close enough that her floral fragrance teased his cock into awareness. Too bad he wouldn’t be the one to teach the virginal priestess his personal proclivities. Leaving her pure would bring a higher demand for her at the auction.

Out of the corner of his eye, he watched a guard smack a female on her head with the side of his laser spear. “Don’t hurt any of them, you morons!” he roared. “Captain Anbu, it’ll be your hide if any of these females are injured in any way.”

“Yes, sire!” Anbu squealed when a laser spear shot into his upper arm. He grabbed the female who did it and put a rappu over her mouth. It spread and stopped her angry snarls as he ripped the spear from her tight grip.

“Sire, when do I leave for the territory you’ve promised me?” Enheduanna glanced over her shoulder, her eyes wide as her chest heaved.

Good. The traitorous female was smart enough to know when to fear him. Murduk moved in closer. “Why, my dear, you will leave for your new territory as soon as the lucky male who wins you in the lottery takes you.”

“Lottery?” Her pale eyebrows rose as her face flushed a becoming shade of pink. “But you promised me my very own holdings if I helped you take over the temple.”

Grabbing her by the upper arms, he lifted her to her feet until his chest brushed against hers. “As I’m sure you’re aware, women cannot own property on Akurn.”

“But-but you make the laws as sub-Prince. You can change that rule.” Her face lost all color as her glorious breasts rose and fell.

“Silly woman.” Murduk grabbed the thick braid tied at her nape. He leaned in to breathe the woman’s musk along her neck. The continued clashing cries of the combatants behind him made his dick hard. “Why would I want to do that?”

~Agent Stygian, Claude Reese~

Claude Reese, a.k.a. Special Agent Stygian of the CIA, glared at his personal satellite phone after it pinged. His eyebrows rose. Well, wasn’t this a nasty surprise? A text message came through. The safeguards on this phone were so tight, no one should’ve been able to send him anything, much less a message. He sucked in a breath when he read who the text was from. His boss, Director Obsidian.

How in the hell did he get this number? This was Claude’s private satellite phone, and no one had this number. Least of all his elusive superior. A man he never met in person. They’d only spoken through phones or his computer, his voice altered.
