When they were dressed and ready, Alice took her mum’s arm while Henry had the baby in the car seat.
‘Ready?’ Henry asked.
‘One thing…’ Alice gazed at her baby girl. ‘I’ve decided upon her name now.’
‘Don’t keep us waiting.’ Her mum laughed because Alice had changed her mind about what to name her daughter so many times over recent weeks.
‘I love the name Freya. It’s associated with beauty, love and strength and I think it suits her perfectly.’
‘She’s as beautiful as her mum,’ Henry said with a bashful grin.
‘Thank you.’ Alice flashed him a smile.
‘I love that name,’ her mum said.
‘OK then, now I’m ready,’ Alice replied, and she was referring to more than just the fact that she was ready to go home.
She was ready to start her new life as a mum. Ready to see where things could go with Henry. And ready for the community to welcome her baby girl, Freya, as a new arrival at Cwtch Cove.
