“Your mother would be so happy if she were here,” he says, a tinge of sadness coloring his voice.

“I wish she was here. I wish I could remember more of her,” I say, his arm wrapping around me as he walks me to the door and pauses, his eyes on my face.

“But she is here, Lori. You’re just like her. I see her in you every time I look at you. Since you were a child,” he says before leaning over to kiss my forehead.

When he pulls back, he sighs and opens my bedroom door.

“Time to give you away to the bastard,” he chuckles and I swat at him, my sprained wrist now fully healed and free.

“Be nice,” I scold as he walks me down the stairs, the house quiet as everybody is probably already seated and waiting outside, the soft sounds of violins playing the wedding march echoing in my ears.

“Oh, I’ve been very nice. The man has made me a lot of money just this month alone. This wedding was nothing but a penny, baby,” he says, walking me to the backdoor and opening it, fresh air blasting my face as a sigh leaves my lips, my father’s arm looping with mine.

“Are you ready?” He asks, looking over at me as I scan the shadowy crowd, a million floral scents hitting my nostrils.

“Yes, papa. I’m ready,” I say and then we start walking.

I hear people shift in their seats to watch me. I hear their gasps and sighs as I descend the aisle, and I hear violins and smell orchids. The sun has nearly set and everything looks golden and white around me. If I were to die now, this would be my heaven. The blurry images and senses are now forever imprinted into my brain. When I look up from the floral path, my eyes land on Marco who waits for me at the end of the aisle. He’s wearing a dark gray suit, my favorite one I presume. When we get closer, I see that he’s wearing his glasses and my heart nearly stops then.

We reach the end of the aisle, my brothers stand to kiss my cheeks, settling back in their spots so that my father can give me away. He kisses my cheek and pulls me to Marco, my hand now molding with my husbands.

“Protect her,” my father scolds.

“With my life,” Marco whispers, his voice washing over me like a warm summer rain.

My father walks away to his seat and Marco pulls me to him, holding both of my hands as he looks at me.

“You’re perfect,” he says, one of his hands moving to cup my cheek.

“Like a princess?” I ask, smiling at him.

“No, like a queen. My queen,” he says, kissing my hand before the officiant starts the ceremony.

We exchange our vows and when I say I do, the crowd roaring when we kiss, but I can’t focus on them. All I can focus on is the soft feel of Marco’s lips against mine, the feel of his rough hands against the skin of my face as he holds me close. When we finally pull away, everyone is cheering and the smile on my face is so wide my cheeks hurt. He walks us down the aisle, my body plastered to his as we make our way through the crowd and back into the house.

We talk with our families, shaking copious amounts of hands before we go to the front to take pictures. When everything is said and done, we make our way back outside, where the event space has been fully transformed into a reception. There are white, silk tents everywhere. The sun is now set and candlelight illuminates everything. Marco hands me a glass of champagne as we talk with his uncles, the night flowing smoothly as we greet and chat and celebrate.

When we make our way to our table in front of everyone, I sit down. Marco is still standing, a glass of champagne raised as I tilt my head at him in wonder.

“If you all don’t mind, I’d like to make a toast to my beautiful bride,” he says, the crowd cheering at my heart flutters for him.

“Lorena, I want you to know that not a day has passed where you haven’t occupied my mind. From the moment I saw you, it’s been nothing but you. And while in the beginning I had an awful way of showing it, I want you to know that my heart has been spoken for since meeting you,” he says, looking directly at me as he speaks.

“You are everything to me, Lori. My pulse, my air and my soul. You occupy every fiber of my being and I swear, I will spend every single minute of my days loving you, protecting you, giving you everything that I can give you. I will take care of you when you’re sick, hold you when you’re sad. I’ll put your photos up all over our home, create a life worth living with you. Baby, I’ll do it all as long as you’re beside me. As long as you’re next to me, I can do anything,” he says, my teeth biting down on my lip as my whole body trembles for him, craves him.

“I know in my heart that my father would have adored you, that my mother loved you like her own. I know that even though they aren’t here with us physically, they’re watching over us, rooting for us,” his voice thick with emotion as he raises his glass, everyone else mirroring his movement.

“I love you, Lorena Rose De Vico. More than anything. My wife,” he says and the crowd cheers, my smile wide and teary as he bends to kiss it, my hands resting on either side of his face as I breathe him in.

“My husband,” I whisper against his mouth, getting lost in his kiss as my panties start to grow wet, my body needy and aching for him.

He sets down his glass and we sit for another hour, eating dinner and accepting congratulations from various people. I must admit, by the end of it I am nearly exhausted. I even tried my best not to yawn while cutting our cake. However, when Marco bends down to lick a stray bit of icing away from my lips, my lust for him flares. My whole body gets hot and it takes every bit of restraint that I have in me to not climb him like a monkey would a tree. Instead, I lean forward to whisper in his ear.

“I’d like to go home. Right. Now,” I say with need, his acknowledging growl making my pussy weep for him.

He pulls away then, picking me up with one effortless swoop before tossing me over his shoulder, my laughter filling the yard as he whisks me away from everyone and through the house. He walks me out of the front door, whistling for one of his guards to get the car ready. When it starts up, he tosses me in and follows, slamming the door before he lunges and attacks my mouth like a greedy man.

“Home,” he barks to the guard, the car peeling away from my family's mansion as Marco starts biting at my lips, his hands pulling me to sit me on his lap.
