I unlocked my villa and headed inside. I felt like a little kid and wanted to run to my bedroom and jump on the bed. Thank goodness the staff member had not seen me doing that. I was amazed at myself that I had not stayed the night. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to have sex with Corey again, but it was better to leave him wanting.

I was really hoping he would be as keen tomorrow. I just knew myself and sensed that I needed to get out of there while the going was good. I didn’t want to say something stupid like, ‘you are the most amazing guy I have ever met’. I wanted to tell him how sexy his Irish accent was and how he knew exactly what to do with his tongue. I was getting hot between the legs again just thinking about it. I had noticed he was getting hard again when I kissed him before I left. I hoped it didn’t backfire on me and he had changed his mind in the morning.

I headed to the shower and then settled down for the night. I thought I would still be upset about Hunter, but Corey had cleared those cobwebs away. I lay down and considered sending a message to Scarlet. She had always kept me up to date when she was on her travels. I would do the same.

Avery: Arrived in Port Douglas and the hotel is incredible. Fell in my neighbor’s pool and then fell into his bed.

I knew it wouldn’t be long before I heard back. My cellphone rang.

“Hi there, Scarlet, and what could you possibly want to talk to me about?”

“Don’t mess with me, girl. Give me the low down.”

The next ten minutes were spent with me saying how I had fallen in his pool and how Corey had rescued me.

“So, you had to repay him with sex because he saved your life. Nice one.”

“Honestly, Scarlet. He is so damn sexy in a rough diamond sort of way and that Irish accent sends shivers down my spine. Hunter looked like a model, but this guy was sending my hormones into Neverland.”

“Sounds like he was sending shivers somewhere else if you ask me. I can’t say anything. You know how fast Nate and I hooked up.” She laughed.

“This is just a fling. I love you two, but I’m not looking for that.”

“So, are you going to see him again?”

“He said we could go for a trip tomorrow. I’ll do some research before I go to sleep. I’ll keep you posted.”

“Just have a good time. You deserve it and let me know how it goes. Just look after yourself.” Scarlet hung up.

I lay back in bed and searched through the pamphlets the hotel had provided. I would get Corey back in bed again, but it would be fun to see the local area. Just not the crocodiles or stingers.

There were so many things I would love to do in Far North Queensland but had done a few with Scarlet. She had found herself alone the day after her wedding. I still had a hankering to slap her ex across the face. I would not be violent though. Everything had turned out okay for Scarlet and she had a wonderful man in her life now. I didn’t need a man permanently but was happy to use Corey for the next four days.

I decided I would like to do the sunset cruise with him. I looked at the other activities but wanted to be chill. I mean, I had just had sex with him, but I didn’t know anything about him. The cable car over the Daintree Rainforest might be great, but he might not have a head for heights. There was no way I was going up in a helicopter out to the reef. The last time I did that with Scarlet the door had broken and opened in mid-flight. I just might have wet myself a little bit that day. We would see how tomorrow went and then decide if we still wanted to be around each other outside of the bedroom. It wasn’t like we had any deep and meaningful conversations about the world. I would keep it simple.

I was showered and dressed and sitting on my back deck. Now it was the day after I was not so sure about knocking on his door. He might see it for what it was. An opportunity to have sex without complications. Great sex, but just sex. Hell knows, that was the way I was thinking last night. My stomach grumbled. I could call room service, but I might as well go and have breakfast in the restaurant. What if he was there and ignored me. I would just have to look around and see if there were any more hunks about. Or I could do express post on a vibrator.

I went to open the front door and there he was. Whatever I thought I remembered from last night was rubbish. He was hotter than I recollected if that was possible.

“Hi again.” He had his hands in his pockets, and it was cute for this big guy. “I was about to go over for breakfast if you want to join me.”

My stomach gurgled again. I must have the loudest guts in Australia. He laughed.

“I’d love to.” I walked along beside him frantically trying to think of something to say. I was a businesswoman and could cope with all sorts of situations no matter how stressful. My brain had gone blank. Then I remembered the pamphlets. “I had a look at some of the tours. Is there anything you would like to do?” I had my fingers crossed behind my back he did not say helicopter ride.

We walked into the restaurant and were shown to a table. I had to admire the staff that showed no reaction to the fact we were eating together. I was pretty sure nothing happened in the place without the staff knowing. We ordered our food, and I sipped on my coffee. They could probably write a book about it and make big money.

“Your coffee is really good in Australia.”

“What were you expecting. A brew-up in a Billy can?” I laughed.

“I don’t even know what a Billy can is. Should I be worried?” He raised an eyebrow at me.

“It’s what we use to make tea in when we go camping over a bush fire. You’re right though, Australians do like their coffee. We are coffee snobs.”

“Well, it’s wonderful.” He sipped his coffee. “I had an idea about tours that we could do. Each of us books something and doesn’t say what it is so you get a surprise.”

I did not expect that, but I was up for something to challenge me in and out of the bedroom. “That sounds great.”
