I was still gasping and shaking when she pulled her mouth away, continuing to stroke me slowly. She used the back of her other hand to wipe her mouth as she stared at me with this questioning look.

“What the fuck was that?” I asked, tugging her down and tucking her beneath my chin. “I thought you said you needed pointers?”

She ran her fingers over my chest before pushing up on her elbows to look at me. “Well, that’s never happened before. The few times I did it, there was, er, no realfinale.”

I barked out a laugh. “That fucker didn’t come, and he let you think it was because you weren’t good at it?”

“Something like that. But you’ve always given me more credit than I deserve,” she said, her voice just above a whisper.

“Or maybe you’ve just been with someone who didn’t see you the way he should.” I wrapped my arm around her, and her cheek rested against my chest.

“This was a good first day for us, huh?” she asked with a chuckle, but her voice sounded sleepy.

“Damn straight. And now you’re going to sleep like a champ until I wake you up for round two.”

I pulled the covers over us and kissed the top of her head, closing my eyes and breathing her in.

It was the most content I’d ever felt in my life. And I was a pretty content dude, so that was saying a lot. I wrapped my arms around her tighter, wanting to keep her for as long as I could.

And sleep took us both.

The sun-filled room woke me from a sound sleep. I stretched my arms over my head and immediately missed the warmth of Reese beside me. I pushed to sit up, looking down beneath the thin sheet to see I was still fully naked. I blinked a few times before I realized my best friend was sitting on the edge of the bed, already dressed.

“Good morning. When did you get up?”

She turned around to look at me. “Hey. I’ve been up for an hour. I was just going to wake you up. We’ve got to get back home for Gracie’s tea party.”

She wasn’t making eye contact with me, so I knew something was up. I ran my fingers over the scruff of my jaw as I waited for her gaze to meet mine.

“What’s going on, Miney? You okay?”

“What? Yeah. Why wouldn’t I be? Are you not okay? Are you freaking out?”

I chuckled. “Do I look like I’m freaking out?”

Her teeth sank into her bottom lip. “No. You look relaxed.”

I leaned forward and grabbed her hand, tugging her over to me. “Tell me what’s going through that over-worrying head of yours.”

“I don’t know. I don’t want things to be weird. I figured you’d wake up with a lot of regret.”

“Regret? I feel fucking fantastic. I can’t wait to do it again.”

Her head tipped back, and her face softened. “Yeah?”

“Hell, yeah. We can keep doing it until we break up, right?” I wanted her to feel in control of the situation.

She nodded slowly. “Yep. But I think we need some ground rules if we’re going to keep this going and, you know, take the next step.”

“Fuck like bunnies? Is that what you mean?”

“Have sex. Yes.” She rolled her eyes. “We need rules, Chewy. Or this could get really messy.”

“Are you worried I’m going to fall in love with you?” I teased before nipping at her bottom lip.

She put both hands on my chest and pushed up a little so she was looking down at me. “You aren’t the one who confuses love and sex. That’s me. So, we need to be smart. The last thing we need is me confusing what this is.”
