"I know. So, I guess I love you just because I love you." It felt so good to say the words, to feel the words, to allow the emotions to fill her.

"Me, too," Gabby said. "He told me he loves both of us."

"I do," Keegan said. "But I really think there's a better time and place for this kind of talk." He waggled the gun at her ex. "Keep your head on the floor. Don't move, or I'll happily shoot you for terrorizing the women I love all this time."

"And there's one more thing," Sofia said.

"What's that?"

"You remember that thing you wanted to do with Gabby's birth certificate? Well, it's okay with me."

Keegan's gaze shot to hers this time, a look of absolute love on his face. "Really?"

Her heart turned over at the joy on his face. This man. This man. God, she loved him.

"What?" Gabby tugged on her arm. "What about my birth certificate?"

Sofia grinned. "You can tell her."

Keegan was smiling now as he kept his gaze on his prisoner. "I'm not sure this is the best timing."

"The timing is perfect. No more delays, Keegan. No more wasted moments in our lives."

"What are you guys talking about?" Gabby asked again.

Keegan's smile widened. "Gabby, if it's okay with you, your mom and I are going to amend your birth certificate to put my name as your dad. Since I am."

Gabby's eyes filled with tears. "Really?"

He nodded. "Really."

Sofia smiled. "Yes. No more blank line on there."

Gabby threw her arms around Sofia's waist and buried her face in her chest. Sofia hugged her and exchanged smiles with Keegan. The expression on his face was pure love, and she held out her arm to him.

He sighed melodramatically. "See? Not perfect timing. I want to be in that hug fest right now."

"Guns are snuggly," Sofia said. "It's almost the same."

"I agree." Gabby turned to face him, her head resting on Sofia's shoulder. "You really want to do that, Keegan?"

He nodded. "Absolutely. Your last name is Navarro, but you're also a Hart, and the whole world will know it now."

Sofia's throat clogged with emotion, and Gabby's arms tightened around Sofia. "Do I get a trust fund?"

"How about several? One for each day of the week?"

She grinned. "Perfect. And cars?"

"Never. You don't get to drive ever again, according to your mom."

"Mom," Gabby wailed in protest, but her eyes were dancing.

At that moment, Sofia heard sirens pull up in front of the building, and she relaxed even more. Within a few minutes, the police had swarmed the room and taken over.

Sofia and Gabby retreated to the hall, and a few minutes later, Keegan walked out.

Her heart filled as he headed toward them, his arms out to sweep them both into a massive hug. "I love both of you like crazy," he said as they melted into a big pile of hugs. "Thank God you finally caved in to my charm, Sofia. I wasn't sure how much longer I was going to be able to last giving you space."
