It took more than a few moments before Gabby finally pulled back, her eyes red, her cheeks stained with tears. "You're such a jerk for making me cry."

He laughed softly. "If I do the dad thing right, I'll probably have to piss you off a lot. I hear that's part of the deal."

"I know." She rolled her eyes as she retreated to her side of the table. She grabbed a napkin and blew her nose and wiped her cheeks, then tossed it to the side. "I'm going to tell you now that since stealing my mom's car worked out so well, I'll probably need to steal yours too. Yours are nicer than hers was."

He picked up his coffee. "Well, then, you should know that I'm not going to bribe you for your love. That includes things like, not letting you take my vehicles without permission. Or giving you a credit card with unlimited spending."

Her face brightened. "But you'll give me one with limited spending? Like what? Twenty thousand dollars a month? Because I feel like that's just a drop in the bucket for you, and I'm totally worth it."

He laughed. "I'm not giving you a cent without your mom's permission. She's been making the rules for sixteen years, and I'm going to respect them."

Gabby wrinkled her nose. "That's so annoying. She's such a stick in the mud."

"Is she?" He grinned. "Seems to me she's a pretty amazing, bold, happening woman who can rock any room she steps into."

Gabby's brows shot up. "Are you going to marry her, then?"

He choked on his coffee. "Marry her?"

"Yeah. I mean, you wore a fake nose for her. I feel like that's making a statement. Or are you going to break her heart? Because I'll be honest, that would piss me off on a thousand levels if you made her cry."

Damn. He loved the loyalty between Gabby and Sofia. They had a brilliant relationship. "I don't know how it's going to work out," he said honestly. "And I hope like hell I never make her cry."

"Do you love her?"

He sat back, contemplating how honest to be. Finally, he decided on the truth. This was his daughter, and he wanted to set the foundation of honesty in their relationship. "I do."

Gabby leaned forward, studying his face. "Like really love her? Like love love?"

He met her gaze without hesitating. "I do. I loved her when we first met, and I still do. I love her differently now, but it's far more powerful."

Gabby pursed her lips. "I think she loves you. The way she looks at you…she's glowing."

A rush of emotion flooded Keegan. "I hope so."

"So, would you like to marry her?"

He laughed. "I think that she's the first person I would need to tell that to."

She grinned. "So, that's a yes. Damn! That's so cool. If you marry her, though, you can't try to take over our lives."

Ah…like mother, like daughter. "If I were to marry your mom, we would all decide together how we want to create a life together. That's what family is."

She cocked her head. "Okay."

Okay. Just like that. Accepting him. "I appreciate your trust in me. I won't let you down."

"I almost hope you do. Then we could sue you for billions." The twinkle in Gabby's eyes told him she was kidding, and he laughed.

"My billions are all yours, remember? I asked Eliana to put that together for you."

"Yeah, about that." She frowned at him. "Why can't you keep us safe?"

"I'm working on that with my brothers. We're powerful with deep resources. We plan to find a way."

Her face lit up and she grinned. "You're such a badass. I love that. I had no idea. I thought you were all a bunch of useless richies."

"Useless? I'm sure my siblings will be thrilled to hear that."
