Page 8 of Ghostly Glances

“You did?” The admission surprised me.

“Of course. I’m a ghost, not a eunuch.”

We both laughed. “Have you ever experienced a ghostly touch?” Ben asked.

“I’ve never experienced a ghost, but wait. You said you couldn’t touch anything. What gives?”

“This is a special kind of touch. May I demonstrate?”

I looked into Ben’s eyes. I saw mischief there, but I was curious as hell, too. “Uh, yeah, okay. I think I’m ready.”

“I call this a sensation serpent.”

“A what? It’s not poisonous, is it?”

My fingers dug into the edges of the couch cushions while Ben flicked his wrist. Suddenly, a slender, delicate, sort of tendril thing appeared before my eyes. It glowed a faint purple, was about two feet long, and undulated and twisted gracefully in the air.

“What is that?” I asked, unsure whether I wanted to continue, but I wanted to know.

When Ben flicked his wrist again, the ghostly serpent moved through the air and slipped inside my shirt. It found its way past the open button at my neck.

I shivered and squirmed. It startled me, but it was unlike anything I’d felt before. A warm tingle spread across my smooth skin. It moved across my chest, leaving a pleasurable sensation in its wake.

My body trembled. I didn’t know whether that was due to excitement or shock. Maybe it was both. I looked down to see a firm bulge rise in my jeans. Reflexively, I started to cover that.

“I’ve seen a lot of those before,” whispered Ben.

I gasped when the serpent continued its journey past my belly andinsidemy jeans. There, it undulated and formed a ring, tugging lightly on my cock. I blushed again, an intense shade of red.

“Hey, stop,” I yelped. “I…this makes me a little uncomfortable.”

“It doesn’t feel good?”

“I…I… didn’t say that, but I barely know…damn, just slow down, maybe?”

He flicked his wrist one more time, and the serpent disappeared. I gasped for breath.

“Logan, there’s more to my afterlife than just haunting. We could explore many things together if you’re interested.”

I bit my lip and stared at Ben. I tried to consider what those things might be.

The room was silent, except for the hum of my refrigerator off in the distance. I held Ben’s gaze as he waited patiently for my response.

The whole thing was ridiculous. I was talking to a ghost, and I was feeling a connection. It directly opposed logic, reason, and my entire way of understanding the world.

Still, I was undeniably excited about the possibility of exploring the unknown with Ben. My life was dull. Each day tumbled into the next one with slight variation. I was excited on days when I had a smoothie instead of a breakfast sandwich.

It was time to take a leap.

I looked at Ben. “I have no idea where any of this could go or what it means to believe you’re real, but…” I paused and reached out to let my fingers pass through Ben’s hand.

He grinned as he watched me.

“I want to find out,” I said. “I’m tired of blah, ordinary days. This is strange and incredibly unbelievable, but it might be what I need. If you’re willing, let’s see what can happen.”

I exhaled slowly. Ben drifted closer, placing his spectral hand over my pounding heart.

“I can’t wait,” he said. “Maybe this will be the grandest of adventures for both of us.”
