“Nice,” Apache said.

“Weren’t bad.” Gauntlet grunted.

“Take the compliment, bro.” Savage chuckled as he scanned the area.

Ace noted the bastards were hiding behind trees which Phoe had insisted being left. They were old as dirt, and while they’d agreed, Rage had recognised the potential to hide behind them. Ace couldn’t say he was happy and longed to tear them down even while his Native American side screamed sacrilege at him.

Another guy popped out, and Ace and Apache both took the shot. The Fang spun and dropped. His shots went wide. A second Fang darted out and started dragging him to safety, and a bullet blew his brains out. One of the prospects on the roof had fired.

Three remaining. Suddenly, a man jumped forward, hands in the air, clearly surrendering. Ace felt bile rise as a Fang took him out. Shit, they weren’t above killing their own men. Ace shook his head in disbelief as Savage caught a glimpse of the shooter and hit his arm. The guy spun with the impact of the bullet and stepped into the open, and a prospect finished him. One left.

Ace’s lips twitched as suddenly, the guy walked forward and took a blow to the head, and Manny appeared behind him. Manny began checking those on the ground and removing their weapons. Ace covered them as Gauntlet, Manny, and Savage moved to help someone else. For now, he was out of the fight.

Rock.

He sighed as he watched the idiots drop off the wall and creep forward. Swapping a glance with Blaze, he dropped one, and the others reacted. Blaze caught one, but the guy scrambled for shelter. Blaze shot again, and he fell to the ground. Rock snorted, and Blaze sent him a dark look.

“Need to practise, kid,” Rock teased as he hunkered down.

“Fuck you, the wind took it,” Blaze argued, and Rock chuckled.

They stiffened moments later when Calamity’s voice echoed over the earpiece.

“Six more Fangs just arrived. They’re storming the gates. Support needed at the front.”

“On the way, Calamity,” Savage replied.

“Let’s take care of these,” Rock growled. “Pop your head up, kid.”

Blaze turned an incredulous glare on him.

“Stick your own damn head up. I got a wife,” Blaze snapped.

“So have I.”

“Then don’t worry, old man, I will look after Carly when you’re gone,” Blaze countered. Rock surged towards him, and two men popped out from the trees. Blaze’s bullets took them down seconds apart.

“You little shit!” Rock thundered.

“When you’ve done checking they’re dead, I’ll meet you at the front,” Blaze teased and escaped. Rock shook his head. Cocky fucker, but Rock had to admit, Blaze’s plan had worked.

Lowrider

He wasn’t planning to mess around. As soon as the last guy flipped over the wall onto Rage land, he fired alongside Ezra. Two hit the ground hard as the other two stared open-mouthed. They yanked guns from their cuts and began shooting wildly.

“Fuckin’ asshole!” Ezra cursed as he took a bullet to the arm. He sank behind their protection and glanced at Lowrider.

“How bad?” Lowrider demanded, firing blindly back.

“Through and through, gonna need cleaning and stitches.”

“Lowrider to Klutz. Ezra took one to his arm,” Lowrider said. The Bluetooth device cackled, and Klutz replied.

“On standby, bring him in when you can.”

“Will do,” Lowrider confirmed as a guy shouted.

Ezra popped up and fired a shot before ducking as a bullet hit the wall behind him.
