Both of them just lay there on the bed. They were in nothing but their boxer briefs, which made them look like confused, sexy statues.

Louie was the one to snap out of it first. “What?”

I stood from the bed and began to head to the bathroom. “It’s a wonderful gift,” I shot over my shoulder.

An arm wrapped around my middle and I was flung back onto the bed before Jamie climbed on top of me. “We’re waiting on an answer.”

I gave him an innocent look. “I wasn’t asked a question.”

A slow smile stretched his mouth. “Will you marry us?”

“Hmm.” I tapped my chin with the tip of my finger as my eyes flicked from Jamie to Louie. “Yes.”

Jamie grasped my chin and slammed his mouth onto mine, kissing me to the point I became breathless. He pushed off of me and scooted down my body. His fingers grabbed the waistband of my sleep shorts and he removed them from me. Louie helped me out of my shirt and brought his mouth to mine at the same time as Jamie buried his face between my legs.

“We’re going to be late to breakfast,” I said between kisses.

Louie pulled away a little, grinning. “You don’t eat breakfast.”

Jamie’s tongue licked me from ass to clit, making my whole body shudder. “Good point,” I said with a breathy voice as I grabbed the back of Louie’s head, making him kiss me again.

We were very late to breakfast, and strangely, my goons didn’t show up to get me out of bed. I had a feeling Jamie and Louie had asked them not to bother waking me this morning. Stefan, Conor, Aunt Kiara, Rourke, and Brenna were all in the dining room and were just sitting there silent as we walked in.

“Good morning, Daddy,” I said as I passed him to sit in my chair.

Stefan studied me with his perceptive eyes. “You’re in a good mood this morning.”

I supposed I was, because I truly felt good—happy even—and it was wonderful. Smiling, I reached for the coffee carafe.

Stefan grabbed my hand and inspected the ring on my finger. “Is it because you have a very pretty ring on a special finger?”

Aunt Kiara let out a loud squeal and came rushing over. She snatched my hand from Stefan’s. “Oh, it’s beautiful, sweetie,” she gushed and started rambling on about a wedding I had yet to think about.

Brody came rushing in carrying Kieran. “What happened? I heard a scream.”

Brody was back to helping me watch the baby. Caroline had quit after what had happened with Dylan. Not that I could blame her. That night had traumatized the poor lady. The person we’d hired to replace her wouldn’t start until tomorrow. I got up from the table and took Kieran from him before showing him my ring.

He smiled down at it, unsurprised, and gave me a hug. “Congratulations.”

A hand touched my back as I pulled away from Brody. It was Stefan. Standing close to us, he placed a kiss on top of my head. “Yes, congratulations.” He rubbed Kieran’s head gently. “Family meeting today.”

I nodded. “I know.”

As I stood in front of the bathroom mirror, I smoothed away the nonexistent wrinkles on my skintight suit. Today, I would return to being the Banphrionsa and my father’s heir. Stefan had already spoken to Nicoli, assuring him that he would honor the alliance and all its terms. Stefan had asked me why I was so eager to hand the kingdom back to him, so to speak.

“I’m not ready, Stefan. Don’t get me wrong, I can do the job. I know I can. Being you for a week proved that to me,” I had said. “But when it’s time to take your place, I don’t want to have to kill a bunch of people or hide behind alliances. I want to step into your role with everyone knowing I deserve to be there or fearing me enough not to question it.”

“There will always be someone who won’t support you in power,” Stefan had said.

“I know, but if you give me the time that I need, most will.”

Stefan had respected my answer.

Of course, in the past week I had forgiven him for being taken. It would have been hypocritical of me not to. If I thought about it, Stefan and I were guilty of the same mistake. I had let Dylan live and paid for it. Stefan had let my mother live and he had paid for it. We would both carry scars from our mistakes, emotionally and physically. Now that we were past it all, we were at a point where we could breathe deeply and work to move on.

“We’re going to be late,” Dean said as he poked his head into the bathroom.
