“Calder might still be awake,” Hendrix warned her. “But don’t worry. He’ll leave us alone.”

Thea nodded slowly, following us inside. Our house was small, but it did what we needed. Provided us shelter and a place to lay our heads. We each had our own room, but shared a single bathroom. The kitchen wasn’t anything to write home about. Just a stove and a small countertop area with a fridge and enough space to fit a square table that seated four. The living room wasn’t anything grand. It had a three seater sofa, a recliner, and a coffee table with a TV. We didn’t have pictures up, or any decorations.

I kicked off my boots by the door, and Thea followed suit, sliding off her flip-flops. The living room light was on, which meant Calder was home and awake. Hendrix and I led Thea down the hall, and into the living room where the pool table was set up behind the couch.

Calder sat in the recliner with a book in hand. He glanced up, one brow perched as he watched Thea head for him.

“You’re Calder, right?” She extended her hand. “I’m Thea.”

Calder stared at her hand, as if debating biting it. Then he glanced at me and Hendrix. “The fuck she know my name for?”

We both groaned at the same time.

Thea looked between the three of us, dropping her hand. Her eyes softened, and a frown began to form. “I’m sorry,” she whispered. She shrunk in on herself and backed away from him.

“You’re fine,” I assured her. “Calder is a grumpy fucker. Ignore him.”

Calder growled, cementing my statement. “I’m going to bed,” he said, snapping his book shut. He stood, glaring at me. “Next time tell me when you’re having company over so I can be hidden away before you ruin my night.”

Thea’s mouth dropped as she watched him stalk away in disbelief. When he was gone, she turned back to us, her bottom lip quivering. “Did I do something wrong?” she asked, looking at Hendrix.

“Not at all,” he supplied. “Let’s play pool. You want a drink?”

She nodded, heading for the table. “Whatever you’ve got is fine. Thanks.”

He sauntered off, leaving us alone. Thea ran her fingers along the wooden frame of the pool table, and I approached from behind. I settled my hands on the table on either side of her hips. It trapped her, and though she wasn’t facing me, her head was turned just enough that I caught the twitch of her lips.

“You smell good,” she said.

I inhaled her scent, moaning as I did. “You do, too.”

Her smile fell, and she continued running her finger along the divots in the wood.

My lips pressed against the butterfly tattoo on her left shoulder blade. It was a black and white tattoo that lacked any color and was fading. “Don’t let him upset you, nabi. He’s a grump. It has nothing to do with you, I promise.”

“You meant those things in the grocery store,” she whispered. “The things you said you were kidding about.”

I grinned. We were getting somewhere, and I couldn’t wait to take her on the table. “I wasn’t kidding.”

She sighed. “God. I thought I was going crazy.”

“How so?”

She shrugged. “I was worried Hendrix flirting with me was some sort of loyalty test or something. I don’t know.”

I trailed a hand up her skirt. “Hendrix and I have shared women before.” She gasped when the palm of my hand flattened against the warmth of her bare cheek. “Fuck, baby. No panties on? You knew what would happen here tonight, didn’t you?”

She gasped as I massaged the flesh under my palm. “Maybe I hoped,” she whispered. “I’ve never… never done this before.”

“Threesome?”

She sighed, dropping her head when my hand grazed her bare pussy. My fingers were drenched in her arousal already. “Any of this. A one-night stand. Two men at once. I…”

Thea tensed when I nipped at her shoulder. “I realized most people probably say that, but it’s true. I’ve only kind of been with two people. It’s a long story, but I’m not versed in… hookups.”

I pressed the tip of a finger to her entrance, but didn’t slide inside. I was teasing her, getting her warmed up for what would come, and I was also testing the waters. “You can tell me to stop, Thea,” I said. My mouth was against her back and she shivered under my touch.

“I don’t want you to stop,” she said. “I just wanted you to understand.”
