"All right," I say. "Then, let's do it!"

"Let’s do it!"

We both raise our glasses and clink them against each other. She looks at me with her deep blue eyes, and I know the feeling inside is more than just her carrying my baby or the way she makes me feel when we are making love. It is also more than this amazing project we are working on together. It is more than all of that.

I am falling in love with her.

ARGUMENTS

"Ijust got off the phone with the production team, and it’s going to be tight, but I think they can get it sorted. Carl thinks they can get all the additional sets built for the first week of shooting, but we might have to delay for a day or two."

Logan shakes his head and sighs. "We cannot delay any longer. I should go down there and—"

"And what, Logan? Build the sets yourself or breathe down their necks as they try to get them built?"

Logan takes another deep breath. He knows I am right.

"It just feels that everything takes longer than it should, and Charlie still has some ideas on how the opening shot should look. We also have not gotten to any other scenes yet. Why did I do this to myself?"

"Hey, get over here," I order.

Logan smiles at me and does as he is told. I am not usually the one taking charge, but I like to every now and then. When he gets to the large desk, I get up from the massive office chair, and he sits down. I sit in his lap, and he embraces me, placing his hands on my ever-growing belly.

I let out a grunt of satisfaction to have my man with me. "Look, I know this is supposed to be time together for just the two of us, but with production starting in a few days, we are not going to get time to do what we want. However, we can at least work together for the home stretch."

"You are right as always," he says.

"I am glad you acknowledge it. Now, we need to decide on an actor for the role. I’ve narrowed it down to two, but I’d like your input on who you think fits it best."

Logan nuzzles his chin on my shoulder and leans forward to look at the two pictures on my desk. It’s nice to be able to work from home as well as in the office. This was something I could not do when I was still living in my small apartment.

Logan reaches forward with one hand, leaving one on my belly. He picks up the first document and reads through it, not that he needs to. We know both actors inside out—it’s just about making a choice and hoping it is right.

I look around as I sit on his lap. I still feel like I am in a dream. He might have been joking about us living in different wings, but he was not joking about the wings. The place is so big that I still don’t think I have explored it all, and I’ve been here for over a week so far. It is beautiful too. I didn’t know what to expect from his home, but it is elegant and tasteful.

It is a little masculine with lots of black leather chairs and cubic furniture, giving lots of hard edges. If I am going to be here for the long term, I might have to make some changes if he allows it. I don’t really know where we are going yet, but I do know I have feelings for him and want to make it work.

It is still early in our relationship, and we have not had much time for just the two of us. However, shooting will start soon, and we will have more time. Then, we can discover what we are. For now, we need to find a lead actor, or we will not have a show. The book is a great success, and the TV show will be a success too. I feel it, but we need to have a TV show in the first place, and it is not something we can rush.

"Rupert Garrison is a little older, but he is going to bring a certain gravitas to the role," I state. "That could really make a difference in the later episodes when he will have aged, but is it believable to have him de-aged for the beginning of the show?" I ask. "And Lopez Cadert has this bundled-up energy to bring to the role, and the ladies love him, but is that what we want? Do we need to create an audience for the show?"

Logan doesn’t answer, so I continue in my thoughts.

"He did do that play. Lopez might be younger, but he can act when he gives a damn about the piece, and he did say in an article that he wanted to be a part of it when he was linked to the Farazaz role. I know he has read the book. That counts for something, right?"

Logan places the document down on the table and kisses my neck.

"Lopez, right? He’s the one, isn’t he?" I ask.

"I think you just decided. You did not need a second opinion. You only needed to think it through. I feel so burnt out by this whole thing that I cannot think straight half the time. If you think he is right for the role, then he is right for the role."

"Thank you," I say.

I want the embrace to last longer, but Logan has to get up when his phone rings on the other side of the room. I feel like a mammoth getting up and sitting back down.

"Hello," says Logan when he answers the phone. "What? Oh, for fu—yeah, I get it. All right, leave it with me. I know, but you should not have to deal with all that. All right. I will talk to you soon."

"What’s happened?" I ask when he hangs up.
