Chapter Twenty-Four

Psycho

“Mumsaid you were too busy to come see us anymore.”

Thomas asked me to put him to bed. The whole thing is out of this world strange.

“I just had shit to do, but I’m here now, and I’m not going anywhere again.”

“Mum was so sad when you were busy.”

“Was she?” I play along. He doesn’t need to know the ins and outs of what was going on. “I hope you looked after her.”

A little smile brightens his face. “She kept telling me she was fine, but I gave her extra cuddles.”

“Good man.” Turning off his lamp, I tell him, “Get some sleep.”

“Will you be here in the morning?”

“I will. And if you go straight to sleep, I’ll take you for a spin on my bike before school.”

“Really?”

“Really. But you gotta go straight to sleep. Good night.”

“Night, Louis.”

Closing his door, I turn to find Evie sitting at the top of the stairs with her brow arched.

“You think I’m going to let him go for a ride on your bike?”

“You think I’d let him get hurt?” I counter, and she loses the fight.

Like I’d ride dangerously with her most prized possession.

Holding my hand out, she takes it, and I pull her up to her feet. Leading her to her room, I close the door behind us, leaving the light off.

“It’s still early,” she notes.

“I don’t care.”

Running the back of my fingers down her cheek, she leans into my touch.

“I won’t ever walk away again, I swear.”

“You better not.” She steps back and takes off her top. My eyes immediately fall to her new ink, and my dick hardens.

She permanently marked herself for me, with my name, and that shit means more than any vocal declaration of love.

“Now that you’ve got that,” I say, pointing to the ink, “you can’t get rid of me. Like fuck I’d ever let you get it covered.”

“I don’t want to talk anymore.”

Dropping to her knees, she works my belt, and I tip my head back and close my eyes. As much as I want her lips wrapped around my dick, I need to get some shit off my chest first.

Lifting her onto her feet, I sit her on the bed, keeping hold of her hand.

“We have so much we need to deal with,” I begin. “After everything we’ve been through, I don’t want to hold back anymore.”
