“I hope Zena has the time to help,” I added, thinking aloud as we neared Owen’s. “I can’t imagine working on a big-name project like that without her. I swear, she keeps my creative juices flowing.”

“I think it’s just the girls’ wine nights that do that,” Eli teased, giving me a side-eye. “But yeah, I’m sure that she won’t want to miss out on it.”

“Yeah, but the twins keep her busy.” I thought of her two little boys, who were only a couple of months younger than Olly. Zena had found out she was pregnant the day I moved in with Eli, and we’d vowed the kids would be best friends. They were…

But they were a load of trouble too.

“I just can’t honestly believe they’re trying for a third so soon,” Eli remarked, just as a raindrop hit me on the cheek. “I can’t imagine having kids that close together—three of them. Just imagine if she were to have another set of twins. Pure chaos.” He visibly shuddered.

“I think it’s cute,” I said carefully, gauging his reaction.

He narrowed his eyes at me. “Are you implying something here?”

I shook my head, though I still gave him a sly smile. “Maybe in a couple of years. I think we still have a ways to go.”

More raindrops fell from the sky as he brought me to a stop. “I don’t think we have that far to go.”

“Mmm,” I replied, holding back a comment about being married. I had been waiting for months for him to pop the question, but we had gotten busy once Olly was born. “We’ll see.” As soon as the words left my mouth, the rain really began to fall and I hunched my shoulders in surprise. “Oh my gosh!”

“I thought you said rain was romantic?” he laughed, not budging.

“It is! But this is cold.”

“Perfect then. I’ll make this fast.”

“What?”

He dropped my hand, and my mouth fell wide open as he went down to one knee, right there in the middle of the pouring rain. “Olivia, our love story has been weird, and not always easy.” Eli pulled a ring box out of his pocket. “And I had this whole thing planned for a proposal, but then I realized you find romance in the simple things—like pouring rain and cloudy days—so, I think it’s better to do it like this. Will you marry me?”

I nearly passed out, nodding my head. “Um, yeah. Yes. Please. Yes!” I attacked him, kissing him so hard that we nearly fell over onto the sidewalk. We didn’t break apart until we were breathless, and then he slipped the square cut diamond onto my finger.

“Mrs. Olivia Whiss,” he said softly.

“Mr. Eli Gray,” I teased.

He rolled his eyes and pulled us both to our feet. “No one else I’d rather be soaked in the rain with.

I gazed up at him, both of us drenched from the downpour. “Me, either.”

“This is the seventh book I have read by Josie Hart and I have loved every single one of them, but there is just something about this one that makes it my favorite.”

“OMG Must read! I enjoyed reading this book and the suspense was amazing. I was at the edge of my seat and I could not stop reading or put it down!”

“Kai is a grumpy, dirty-talking single dad. He was a total Alpha in this book. Kai was possessive, broken, and stubborn. Molly was independent, stubborn, and creative. Their interactions together were like a powder keg's fuse about to go off. It was hot and face-fanning when they did explode. Their banter was hot and funny at times especially when Molly pushed Kai's buttons. Loved it!”
