I just knew that I wanted to be the one to make the two of them giggle.

I wanted to make the two of them laugh.

I wanted them up in the stands at every game, cheering me on.

I wanted late nights and movies.

Cuddles and snuggles.

I wanted to be there for them when he was sick.

I wanted to give her a break.

I just wanted to be in their orbit.

In whatever way they would let me.

Well, it was a good thing I wasn’t afraid of hard work.

Challenge fucking accepted.

I had just made it to the locker room and started getting into my shit when I saw my phone light up on the bench.

I stopped what I was doing and grabbed it, and didn’t even fight the smile that hit my face.

Aliyah – Hey, so Crew and I have a question to ask you.

Me – Ask away, sweetheart and buddy.

Was that cheesy? Probably.

But she did say her and Crew. And he was also a part of this whole thing.

Aliyah – Crew wants to go to the arcade tomorrow night, and we were wondering if you wanted to go with us.

Me – Count me in.

Once I got a time and told them I would pick them up, I finished putting on my shit and then headed out to practice.

“Dude, what the fuck?” Corbin asked as I sacked him.

“You were sloppy last game. Pick it up,” I told him with a growl.

“Fuck you,” he called out to my back.

I stopped, then turned, and said, “No. Fuck you. I’m trying to keep you from not getting hurt out there. You keep not using your right leg to brace yourself instead of your left and you’re going to have a career debilitating injury.”

Then I spun on my foot and got back into position.

He readied himself, and then, he nodded at me, and I knew he got it.

Then we went again, and this time he braced himself with his right leg and it took me a minute to get him down.

“Good. Again,” I said.

And we went like that until I couldn’t get him down.

I walked up to him while he was drinking water and slapped his helmet. “You do that from now on, every fucking time. Every fucking game.”
