“What?” She asked with gleaming eyes.

“Nothing. Let’s go see what everyone else is up to.”

After we settled at a table with Stella, Sonja, Chloe, and Asher, I had a prospect grab us some beers. I popped the top off of one and handed it to Gabriella. The thing I loved about being a biker in a one-percent motorcycle club was that we lived by our own rules, and everyone knew that.

So, we knew the cops wouldn’t bust our door down for underage drinking.

Sitting there, I wanted to know something.

After Gabriella talked to Sonja about what her plans were, which included her brother and his club taking her to her house to get her stuff and move to South Carolina, I asked, “Our age difference doesn’t bother you?”

She scrunched up her cute button nose and asked, “We’re friends. Right? So why would it bother me?”

I needed to know, because if it did, then I was fucked. Truly and completely fucked. “Humor me. Gabriella, please.”

Sighing, she asked, “Just how old are you?”

“Old enough. I’m thirty-five. And if you started here just out of high school, that puts you at nineteen.”

“Age is just a number, Pipe. I could name ten people right now who are twice your age that act like they are thirteen years old.”

“So, you’re telling me it doesn’t bother you?”

She shook her head then.

And did I hide my smile behind my beer bottle as I took a pull after I said, “Good”?

Why yes, yes, I did.

Thank God the party was still going strong because eight hours had passed by quickly and I could tell that Gabriella was getting sleepy.

That was when the door opened, and Hammer walked in.

Standing up with Asher, Whit, and Coal, we walked over to him, and then I told him the entire story that we didn’t share over the phone.

He nodded and walked over to his sister, but first, he eyed Gabriella. “You the woman that threatened to kill him?”

She looked at me, then at him, and nodded sleepily.

“If you ever need me, I’m there.” Then he looked over his shoulder at me when Gabriella stood to hug Sonja goodbye and said, “You got a great woman.”

And did I correct him? No, I sure as fuck didn’t because she was going to be my woman. Come hell or high fucking water, I would be making that happen.

Since it was late, I crashed in my old room at the clubhouse for a few hours because we had a run to make tomorrow to deliver a shipment of AKs to a neighboring club.

And the kiss I placed on Gabriella’s forehead before she closed her door still tingled on my lips.

***

I wanted to get back to the clubhouse and see Gabriella. The time with her yesterday did nothing to cool the fire I was feeling for her.

No, it only ramped it up to a hundredth degree.

However, I had signaled to the brothers that I was veering off to head to my lawyer's office. I had already called him this morning and instructed to have everything ready.

And his words were about damn time when I signed where he pointed.

After I left the lawyer's office I drove to the house and low and behold, her father's car was there. Two birds, one stone and all of that.
