He smirked at me and said two words, “You’re married.”

“And?” I asked him stupidly.

“Gabby had one condition when she came here. And we all took a vote and honored it. She won't sleep with a taken man. It's why she’s watching the kids tonight. She has no way of knowing if another visiting brother is taken or not.”

And that right there, that simple fact about her, intrigued me all the more.

I wanted to get to know this woman. I wanted to find out what made her tick, what made her smile, what made her laugh, what made her throw caution to the wind and just live life?

I thought I would have to wait another day for that to happen and then, low and behold, the woman that has been on the forefront of my mind walked out of the clubhouse. She scanned the area, and then when her eyes landed on me and Asher, she made a beeline toward us.

Waving and smiling at those that called her name.

As soon as she reached us, Asher smiled down at her as she said, “All the kiddos are asleep, your girl is in there with them, shooed me out of the room and told me to go enjoy the party because Chloe joined her a little bit ago. If it's okay with you, I want to visit some of the ole’ ladies. I don’t get to see them that much.”

“You said Chloe is here?” He asked her and had I not been watching this man’s face; it would have seemed like he was just asking to know who was in the clubhouse. However, that’s not what it was, oh no.

“She is. She’s also in those tight shorts you told her not to wear anymore out in public.” Gabby said with a smile she had to force to keep contained.

Asher didn’t say a word as he growled and stomped away from us in the direction of the clubhouse, and that caused the woman that was still standing here to laugh uproariously at him, which caused him to toss up his middle finger at her.

“Wanna tell me what all that is about?” I asked her.

“Pres has a thing for Chloe and she for him, however, neither one of them will act on it on account of her age and she is his daughter's best friend.”

“Shit,” I said with a rasp because I was inhaling the scent that was wafting from her. Fucking blueberry pancake was what I was smelling. And damn if it wasn’t my favorite breakfast.

Never once have I ever wanted to bottle up a scent and have it on my sheets more than I did right then and there.

When she looked up at me, I was once again struck speechless, just like I had been when she ran into me, and I finally got to see those eyes.

And when I felt the full force of her gaze on me.

Holy. Fucking. Shit.

She had eyes the likes of a color I have never seen before.

They were blue, sure, but they were blue.

The fucking color of indigo.

And that just became my new favorite color.

But first, I had to know, “Are they contacts?”

Please. Fucking please don’t let them be contacts.

She chuckled then, which I added to a sound I wanted to hear for the rest of my life. “Nope. They are my natural eye color.”

Just as she said that her name was called. She turned her head and as I watched her take a step in that direction, then she stopped, her body went rigid, and I wanted to know what the hell was going on.

Looking over her head I saw that her body was pointed toward Sutton who was sitting in a chair beside Irish and watched as a woman walked over to him and like a little puppy, he stood, not one glance in Sutton’s direction, and left.

Then I heard Gabby call out, “Pagan?”

Pagan appeared immediately and even though I couldn’t hear what was said I saw him nod. He walked over to where Sutton was sitting, held his hand out, and took her to the main room of the clubhouse.

Gabby looked back at me and winked.
