Leo came to her side and whispered, “The party is winding down. Let’s head upstairs without drawing too much attention.”

She reached up and kissed him.

He took her hand and pulled her towards the elevator.

“TheVogueteam is still here.”

He pushed the elevator button and pulled her into his arms. “Let them mingle with other people.”

“What about your advice to get out there and tell the Bolles story?”

The doors opened and he guided her inside. “Not everything I say should be taken seriously.”

She laughed and placed her arms around his neck. “I rather like listening to you.”

The doors closed and he kissed her.

When the elevator reached the top floor, Leo picked her up and carried her into their flat.

Emma smiled at him. “You’re supposed to carry me over the threshold when we’re married.”

Leo held her tightly. “We’ll have a different place. I’ll carry you then.”

Kissing his jaw, she said, “I kind of like this place.”

He stepped into the flat and let her slide down his body. “With Francis Bolles downstairs, we’ll need our own space.”

Emma pushed his jacket off and began loosening his tie. “I haven’t slept here since you left.”

He began unbuttoning his shirt. “Why?”

She touched his bare chest. “It was too lonely without you.”

He unzipped her dress. “I guarantee you won’t be lonely anymore.”

She threw her arms around his chest. “I love you. I can’t believe how happy I am.”

Pushing her dress off her body, he said, “I love you. But let’s work on the pleasure.”

She pulled him towards the bedroom. She couldn’t wait and stripped her remaining clothes off on the way.

Her heart beat faster and in a daze of pleasure, she clung to him. Whatever the future held, she would love him with her entire body and soul.
