throat, “Are you going to watch?”

Gate leaned even closer, “You do whatever you have to do to come back safe. Donotworry about me.”

Stash stepped up, “Sorry to interrupt, but I need to get her miked.”

Gate moved to the side so that he and Stash gave Anna a bit of privacy from the rest of the crowd.

And then she parted the cape, and Gate nearly swallowed his tongue.

Her outfit was all emerald-green lace and nude mesh, making the costume appear much more revealing than it actually was. Tiny green ribbons with bows held black stockings in place, and Gate caught a flash of red bottoms on her black fuck-me heels.

The pause drew out, and finally, Anna broke the silence, “Say something, Gate.”

Gate stroked a finger down her cheek, “I’m proud as fuck you’re mine.”

And the smile she flashed nearly blinded him, and he watched as beautiful transformed into spectacular, and he knew that he’d chosen the right path in the truth he’d given her.

She stepped closer, “I’m proud I’m yours too.”

Stash eyed Anna with the critical detachment, “Just gonna put this right here.” He reached for the choker necklace and fitted the micro cam between jewels. “You got me, Rooster?” he called over his shoulder.

“Check, loud and clear!” came from the dining room.

Anna let the cape fall around her again, and Gate took his woman’s hand and led her through the house to the man he was trusting with her life.

Anna

“I’ve never been to a sex club before,” I admitted, glancing in Nine’s direction. He drove with the same intensity he did everything else.

“People are all the same,” Nine said. “Everybody’s looking for connection. Affection. For someone to look at them like they matter.”

“Are you?” I asked, wondering what kind of woman it would take to break through the walls Nine had built around himself.

“Present company excluded,” Nine smirked.

And then it hit me. Nine would never let anyone else tear down his walls, but for the right woman, he’d hand her the keys to the castle, and tear them down himself.

I smiled, suddenly feeling much better about the situation.

Nine cut his eyes my way, “What’s gotten into you? I thought you were nervous.”

“Just realized something, and I’m not so worried anymore.”

Nine frowned, “Want to share?”

“Not really. But one day, if what I’m thinking comes true, I’ll let you know.”

“Good enough,” Nine agreed. “We’re here.”

The brick façade of the mansion was beautiful, lit up against the night sky, and once the valet took the car, Nine held out his arm.

“We’ll start with drinks in the courtyard, make some rounds, and give Stash and Rooster some footage to work with. The ballroom is where the main action will be, so once we make our way in that direction, expect things to get more intense.”

“You’ve been here before,” I guessed. “Like to a party.”

Nine nodded, “Yes.”
