“Rocks are special.” The way he left off Daddy was significant but he didn’t seem done, so I waited patiently. “But…but I haven’t seen your place yet, Master.”

Oh, that was how we were going to frame it?

“You’re right.” Shaking my head, I sighed. “We should remedy that tonight. Alright, plans are all set.”

That had his brows pulling together and he sighed, obviously not happy with the way I’d declared everything done and organized. “I…what should we do after you show me around, Master?”

Oh, my brave boy.

But I had to frown and look thoughtful…because my phone roared at me again. “Maybe we can curl up and watch a movie? Oh, and I can show you the toys that I bought. We can talk about those and figure out which ones you want to try next week.”

And that roar was probably a text message, judging by the way the phone vibrated as well…and it made me feel much better about fucking with my adorable troublemaker.

I’d kept the volume nearly silent but the roar was a distinct enough sound that I could hear it from my pocket no matter what else was going on around me. It was a constant, wonderful reminder about how perfect he was, but as his Daddy and his Dom, I had to make sure he knew who was the biggest pain in the ass.

I was going to do that by giving his ass some wonderful pain.

Eventually.

“I…” He swallowed, and I couldn’t decide if his brain was going a thousand miles an hour or if it’d stopped. “I like show-and-tell.”

Adorable.

“Great. I think that’s the perfect plan.” Reaching over, I squeezed his hand and gave him a loving smile. “One step at a time. I don’t want to worry you.”

The little drama queen groaned.

“Thank you.” Again, he couldn’t seem to decide if I was Daddy or Master, but I got a pout and had to do my best not to smile. “You take very good care of me.”

“I try, sweetie.” Yep, I was evil. “We’re going to have so much fun.”

But first, food and slightly more everyday conversations. Once Charlie seemed to accept the frustration of having an overly polite Daddy, he inched back toward his little side. He asked about my rock and told me about what he’d colored.

It was actually a wonderful dinner even though he’d been worried about big versus little dates leading up to it. He seemed relaxed and sweet, and I had to assume that was because he either didn’t realize how little he was in public or I’d given him too many other interesting things to obsess over.

By the time we’d finished a wonderful dinner of steak for me and chicken nuggets and mac and cheese for the naughty cutie, he’d started remembering the frustrating plan that stretched out in front of him.

“I like playing.” Still no title as he squirmed in the car. “And I trust you.”

Aww.

“You’re very sweet.” Kissing his head, I finished buckling his seat belt since we had quite a bit of privacy where I’d parked and I straightened. “Thank you for being so good.”

Yep, I was evil.

But every time I questioned that, my phone roared at me, so…

Before he had to respond politely and get even more frustrated, I smiled and shut the car door, taking my time walking around to the driver’s side. He’d thought of something interesting or naughty because his whole face had lit up as he’d scrambled to do something on his phone, but he was back to looking innocent by the time I was in my seat. “Ready?”

As he nodded, I tried not to look too curious but it was painful. Every time he thought I was distracted with traffic his fingers would fly over the keyboard. He didn’t even have to look at what he was doing—his fingers just seemed to move on their own.

It was fascinating and just a bit scary for some reason.

He even kept up a running commentary on games that were fun to play, carefully bouncing between toys in the playroom and slightly more grown-up things. “I didn’t know people played that naked but I was looking for fun games online and that came up.”

Charlie looked delightfully naïve but I knew how hard he would’ve had to go looking to find anything interesting online.

“I can’t believe it.” Shaking my head, I sighed and gave a very well-done frown. “People need to be more careful about what they put online.”
