“She’s fucked up. What if her tracker allowed the hackers in?”

“Are you serious right now?” I ask, now standing tall.

“Or just stupid? I placed an IP tracker on a smaller wallet. If that had been the key to the hacker gaining access, it would have been another wallet you’ve been locked out of - not your primary one.”

Enzo steps closer to me, his face contorted with anger.

“Watch what you say to me, Emily. I’m not some love-struck puppy you can push around.”

I meet his gaze head-on, refusing to back down.

“I’m not afraid of you, Enzo. I stand by what I said. If we check the smaller wallets, we can find a clue as to who hacked us.

I did put the tracker in because I knew this would happen. I add, looking at the room around me.

“None of you believed me. I hate saying what I will say next, but I told you so. Now, do you want to run this thing and continue fucking up, or should I take charge?”

Chapter 17

FELIX

“You?Takecharge?”Iwatch Enzo’s face contort into pure hate.

“Over my dead body. You may have slithered your way in by manipulation and skin, but that won’t work here.”

Watching him stand there and intimidate her like this builds a resonating sound of fury through my body.

I lunge out of my seat, sending the chair skidding away.

My voice morphs into something that terrifies even me.

“ENZO! Enough!”

He holds his stance for a moment longer before finally dropping his gaze.

He backs away from Emily slowly until he reaches the wall at the side of the room.

I walk over to him, place my hand on the cuff of his collar, and drag him outside.

“How dare you speak to her that way?” I growl.

“She’s just a whore,” he says.

I punch him straight in the face.

He stumbles to the ground, holding his nose and groaning.

“Say that again, and I’ll do more than just punch you,” I warn him.

He looks up at me, his eyes filled with fear and anger.

“She’s nothing but trouble, Felix. You should’ve never let her in. You know what the Boss said.”

Here we are again, in the shadow of my late father.

“When my father was Don, things were different, Enzo. I’m the Boss now,” I say, leaning down to grab Enzo’s shirt collar.

“And I decide who stays and who goes. You’re lucky I don’t blacklist your sorry ass right now. I swear if you weren’t family...”
