She was jealous.
The first glimpse of affection towards me outside of the physical relationship we had fallen into. The first indication that she felt something for me more than just her inclination to let me give her orgasms.
She cared for me as well.
But that discovery had been enjoyed so shortly after finding out that Arianna had only returned to the boat early because she fainted at lunch. Then I felt nothing but worry.
Which was so foreign to me, I didn’t even recognize myself.
The doctor checked her out, diagnosing her with heat exhaustion and dehydration. She said her period had started with cramps earlier and perhaps that had added to the stress of the day, though I wasn’t convinced. He gave her an IV and a bag of electrolytes and instructed her to stay out of the sun for a few days.
But it didn’t ease the worry inside of me. Add on the fact that I was heading ashore for three days while Arianna continued sailing on to our next stop where I would meet her again, I was restless and uneasy.
Which led me to sit in the chair watching her lying in bed asleep when I should be wrapped around her still, letting her calmness ease me.
“No,” Ari’s melodic voice cut through the dim light of the bedroom as her face creased above the brow. “Please, don’t.”
Nightmare.
I unfolded myself from the chair as her fingers gripped the sheet underneath her and her body tensed.
“Little One.” I ran my fingers through her hair and slid back into bed beside her, pulling her body against mine. “Shh, I’ve got you.” She buried her face in my neck and crawled up my body until she lay across my chest with her legs wrapped around mine. I grinned to myself in the darkness at how easily she gave herself to me in the night when she didn’t fight her body’s desire to be close to me.
“What time is it?” She whispered, waking up enough to get out of her nightmare.
“Almost dawn. You were having a nightmare. What was it about?”
She groaned and tightened her hold on my leg with hers, “I have no idea,” She responded before stretching. “I’m not ready to get up. You kept me up too late.”
I didn’t believe that she didn’t remember, but let it slide for the time being. “You’re going to stay in bed all day long. I don’t want you getting up for anything other than food and then back to bed to rest.” I traced the length of her spine with my fingers, and she rocked her hips, rubbing herself against my thigh like she had one night in her sleep, making me grin again.
“I could probably be persuaded to stay in bed all day if you stay with me.”
“I can’t,” I sighed, “I’m flying to Milan in a few hours. I’ll be gone three days.” She stiffened but remained silent. “Does that upset you?”
“I thought this was a honeymoon.” She finally said quietly.
“It is. But something has come up and I can’t leave it unattended for the rest of our trip. I’ll be back in just a few days, then I’m yours.”
“Take me with you.”
“You’d be sitting alone in my penthouse while I conducted business, Ari, wouldn’t you rather be here on board relaxing?”
“No,” she said and then took a deep breath, “Maybe.”
I rolled over and slid down until our faces were even before sliding my hand around the back of her neck to anchor her where she was. “Will you miss me?”
“Yes,” she said without hesitation, and I rewarded her with a kiss. “You’ve made me an addict for you.”
“Hmm,” I smirked and kissed her again, sliding my tongue over her lips. “I kind of like the idea of that.”
“Because that’s not conceited or anything,” she smirked in the darkness, and I spanked her ass cheek, rocking her forward against my groin. “Mmh, again.” She dug her nails into my shoulder as she threw her leg over my hip and propped her ass up higher for a clearer shot.
“You want me to spank you, Little One?” I rubbed my palm over her warm cheek.
“I’m not too proud to beg you for it, Nico.”
