After I close the hood, I wipe my hands on a rag and turn to her. "I'm going to have to keep it for at least a week."
Jessie's face falls. "A week?"
I nod. "I'm afraid so, doll."
She chews on that pretty, plump lip of hers again.
"What am I going to do without my car for a week?"
I pounce on the opportunity. "I can take you anywhere you need to go."
Her eyes flick to me in surprise. "Really? You don't mind?"
I almost laugh. Mind? An excuse to be in such close proximity to my obsession is like a wet dream come true.
"Not at all, beautiful."
Jessie's face heats as she smiles at me shyly, and my blood races beneath my skin.

I keep peakingglances over at Billy. He's driving me home—in a car this time.
Part of me wishes he had taken the bike because then I'd be behind him with my arms wrapped around him. I'd have an excuse to press my body against his and smell his scent.
God, that makes me sound like such a creeper.
But then again, another part of me is glad we took the car because I can keep looking at his face.
I love his face.
He's the most handsome guy I've ever seen. Everything about him is just so...I don't know.
But it calls to something inside me.
I could happily sit next to Billy for the rest of my life.
That thought should scare me, but it doesn't.
It makes me feel warm and safe, like this is where I belong.
We chit-chat on the way to my apartment. I can't even exactly tell you what we talk about because we talk about anything and everything.
It feels like I've known him forever. He seems to understand me more than anyone I've ever known—aside from my best friend, Whitney.
It's like when Billy looks at me, he really seesme. Jessie Cunningham—not Posh.
That's why when we finally pull up at my apartment and Billy throws the car into park, I'm not ready for this to end.
"Do you want to come inside?" I blurt out before I can lose my nerve.
