I just got my leave approved!

January 15th-22nd (including the weekend) Do you think you can get yours approved that fast? I’m so excited!

See you later – and Merry Christmas!

Giselle

Logging out, he ran to Reaper’s office and winced, remembering he was in Texas for the holiday with his wife. Bravely, he went and tracked down Ricochet.

“Something you need, Sparky?”

“Honestly? Yes. How long will Reaper be gone?”

“He took two weeks for this visit to spend it with his family. They are trying to have another baby and he wants to spend time with Ben and Sophie,” Ricochet smiled. “What’s wrong?”

“I’m trying to put in for leave – and I need to start planning things, buying tickets, etc. but, well, Giselle got approved for mid-January and I’m not sure I can wait. Can you approve leave requests?”

“Fill out your form and let me have it,” Ricochet offered. “I’ll walk it down to Colonel Bradford and get it approved tomorrow morning.”

“Oh man…” he whispered, grabbing the other man’s hand and shaking it. “Thank you, Ricochet. I mean it, thank you so much.”

“I know what it’s like to want to take a break with someone you care about,” Ricochet admitted. “I can’t wait for May to see my wife again. Make your plans, have an enjoyable time, and good luck, my friend.”

Austin returned to the communication room to hurry and email Giselle.

My lovely paladin…

I put in my request and should know an answer tomorrow. As soon as I get approved, I will buy our tickets and forward yours to you. I want to put us on the same flight, sitting beside each other out of Kabul.

Gosh, I am so looking forward to this!

Here’s my addition:

Once upon a time…

Long, long ago…

There was a HANDSOME knight…

And a frustrated but BREATHTAKING paladin with infinite patience…

Who put up with the devilish rascal, because it made them both incredibly happy to take five minutes a day to see each other, share brief messages, and snack on unexpected delights in the moonlight…

But what that knight didn’t know was the paladin yearned for what she could not have, searching the world over for a treasure few would discover…

What a journey it would be - especially if they traveled together, pairing their skills and attributes that made each of them special…

Though she was scared, the paladin was intrigued – wanting to know more…

And the valiant knight vowed to sweep her away to a foreign land — far, far away…

So, she took his hand, feeling more alive and happier than ever before...

He grabbed her hand, smiled at her, and whispered, ‘Baby, let’s run away together and never look back…’

See you soon – and Merry Christmas!

Austin
