“Love you too Roman,” I whisper. “I hope you’ll love our baby just as much.”
He stills behind me but only for a second before he quickly turns me to face him. “What?”
I blush at the intense way he’s watching me. “It was going to be a surprise but I’m pregnant. I went to see the doctor yesterday to check if I had the flu, but it turns out I’m just a few weeks pregnant.”
Roman stares at me in disbelief, afraid to hope. “A baby?”
“Yeah…”
My words are drowned in his chest when he pulls me into his massive arms, embracing me tightly. “Christ baby, you’ve made me a happy man.”
“As have you,” I whisper, furrowing deeper into the embrace. “I never knew love until I found you, Roman. Thank you.”
He responds by tightening his arms around me, as though making up for all the years I went through feeling lonely and unloved. Offering me peace in ways no one ever has in my life, making all the pain, worth it.
