He shakes his head. “No, it’s nothing serious.” He tugs at the knot of his tie, shifting it to the middle. “How do I look?”

“A little less annoying,” I say dryly, crossing my hand over my chest.

“I’ll take that as a compliment.” He smiles, burying his hands in his pockets. Theo strides into my bathroom and glances at his reflection in the huge mirror before starting for the door. “I’ll see you later.”

“I’d rather not see you.”

He closes the door behind him as I watch.

Finally, a moment of peace.

I can now drown in my thoughts as much as I want. But the only thought I have is the answer to Theo’s question.

What do I do with Gigi now?

I’ve gotten what I wanted from her. There is no need to be engaging with her anymore, is there? The most I can do now is leave her alone and hope she doesn’t return to taunt my family.

Although I've entertained the thought of kissing her, touching her beautiful skin, and making her scream my name, I no longer think it's necessary.

I bury my head in my hands. This should be the simplest decision in the world: to let go of a girl who has given me everything I wanted. I know the routine. I could take her on a few more dates and gradually become less appealing. Heck, I could execute it so flawlessly that she'd stop responding to my date requests and go on with her life, convinced that she had ended things.

But I don’t want to.

For some inane, crazy reason, I want her.

At the office,I thankfully get sucked into the insanity of the day and forget all about Gigi. When I glance at the clock, it’s past seven. The thought of going home to let myself drown in thoughts of Gigi does not please me. It’s all that has been happening for the past few days, and it’s damn near aggravating. It was way easier to obsess over her when I was thinking of breaking her.

And now, I’m thinking of pleasing her.

Just then, I hear a tiny, uncertain noise from behind my door.

I turn towards the door, momentarily distracted. My employees no doubt left for the day, and so that had to be…

My stomach tenses in confusion and anticipation.

I know who it is. I can feelwho it is.

I stride towards the door and open it, surer than I’ve ever been in my life about who is going to be on the other side of it.

I’m proven right in a second.

It’s Gigi.

CHAPTER10

GIGI

“Hello,” I hear myself mutter.

He says nothing. He’s staring at me, his face an indecipherable mask. He looks almost…angry.

But I can tell he’s notangry. He’s staring, and his gaze burns straight into my skin, spreading heat all over the rest of my body.

My knees go weak. On my way over here, I told myself I would remain calm and composed. Be the same Gigi he’d known for these past few weeks.

But…how?

I search his face, hoping that something about him would give away the fact that he wants what Iwant. What I’d been thinking about for the past few weeks.
