"You know that won't do any good, Octavia."
"It's a different police force here, surely that'll make a difference."
"They'll just contact Atlanta PD, and I'll be in the same boat as before."
"So what are you going to do then?" Octavia asked, exasperated by Anna's refusal to be proactive.
"I don't know, but I can't hurt that man," she said, staring out the window at Daniel.
"You're not thinking of ending it, are you?"
"What if something happened to him? How the hell would I live with myself? Trent obviously knows I met someone or he wouldn't have written that word, that means Daniel is at risk."
"Daniel is the best thing to ever happen to you besides Ben," Octavia warned.
"That's exactly why I can't let him get hurt. Trent has guns and an angry temper . . . Daniel is Tina's whole world."
"Who's going to protect you two then?"
"It's not his obligation to protect us, Octavia."
"He wants to keep you safe. Why not even allow him that option?"
"Because I love him."

Daniel and Harry painted the fence, but it took three coats to cover it up.
"I'm going to kill this prick!" Daniel growled.
"It's creepy, man. This guy must be watching her."
"She's not safe, and I'm not going to stand for it," Daniel insisted.
"So what's the plan?" Harry asked.
"I don't know," Daniel sighed as Sam ran around the yard in circles yipping like a fool.
Daniel thought Anna should have adopted a big, mean guard dog instead. Daniel returned to see how she was doing when they finished the fence.
"It's all covered up, honey," he smiled, kissing her.
"I better get back to your place to pick up Ashley and Sarita," Harry said.
"I'll be right with you, Harry," Daniel nodded. "Is Octavia staying with you tonight?"
"Yes. Can you call me when Tina goes to bed? We need to talk," Anna asked, which made him nervous immediately.
"Sure. You be careful tonight, OK? I'll call you in a bit."
Anna nodded and kissed him again before he left, knowing that sometimes the right thing to do was also incredibly painful.

"Everything OK?" Tina asked as soon as he walked in the door.
Daniel couldn't hide anything from her, but this time he had to keep it to himself till he knew better what was going on.
