The midwife stepped away from the table and moved toward the baby. Grant watched, hating the time it was taking them to show him his baby. Then, as if by magic, the midwife walked toward them, and the baby was swaddled in the yellow blanket Aria had insisted on.

“Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds. You have a beautiful baby boy.”

The midwife put the baby into Aria’s hands, and Grant stared down at his son. A boy. He’d been so freaking afraid of this moment. A boy or a girl.

Was he going to be like his dad? A fucking monster?

Staring down at his son’s head, his little boy opened his eyes, and Grant knew he wouldn’t be. He didn’t know how he knew it, but it was deep in his gut. He was going to protect this boy’s life with his own.

“Grant, we have a son,” Aria said.

Gant kissed her head. “Thank you so much.”

“What are we going to call him?”

This was up to him and as he looked at his son, he smiled. “Alex,” Grant said. “Alex Reynolds.”

Epilogue

Five Years Later

“Alex, Lindsey, stop fighting, I mean it,” Grant said, stepping to the clubhouse kitchen door and calling out to his son and niece.

“They’re fine,” Maddie said.

“They’re not fucking fine,” Grant said. “Lindsey’s about to kick his ass.”

“He’s five,” Aria said. “I’m sure he’ll recover.”

Aria moved up toward him and wrapped her arms around his waist. He felt her swollen stomach pressing against his back.

He had tried to be strong, to not have another baby, but this would be their third. Their second baby, a girl, was in Lidia’s arms, around the back with Isabella and Michael’s kids.

Aria had never reconciled with her mother, neither had Isabella. The club more than made up for that, though. They had accepted Aria as well as Isabella and Michael, and even Lidia was one of their own.

Bull stood by the grill. He looked toward his brother who held his hand up in a wave. The past five years had been tough. The Cartel was not as big a problem. With William Ranford’s help, they were able to keep the threat at bay, but there was always someone vying for turf.

With his head out of his ass and focused on his family, Grant saw the bigger picture. He and Bull still argued, that was what brothers did. But it no longer interfered with the running of the club. Grant had then made it his mission to earn the VP patch on his chest. He didn’t want Bull looking at him as if he shouldn’t have the patch. He wanted to earn it, and so he had. Whenever Bull needed his VP, he was there.

He saved his disagreements for when they were alone. Bull respected him.

Wanda, Bruno, and Ernie were much older, and he knew their time was going to come to an end soon. He would cherish every moment with them.

Reese giggled as Wanda wiggled down to his level and started to lick his face. Bruno and Ernie were trying to get Lindsey’s affection. As for Izzi and Lizzi, like always, they were near the food.

Like he could only settle for five dogs.

They had three others who were near him and Aria. He had brought them from the shelter as like Wanda, they had withdrawn into themselves. Trixie, Marsha, and Bowen. They had eight dogs, three kids, and a whole lot of happiness.

Pulling Aria into his arms, he stared into her beautiful blue eyes. This woman had been the love of his life. He should have known the moment he walked into that veterinary practice all those years ago, he was doomed.

She had changed his life. For the better.

“I love you,” he said.

She smiled up at him. “And I love you.”

“Daddy, Daddy!”
