Jackson

I grabbed a beer from the fridge and took it out on the patio. Walking down to the beach, I lit the firepit and sat down as I canceled our reservations.

“What a loser.” Simon grinned as he walked over. “Why are you sitting out here by yourself?”

“I was just going to ask the same thing,” Sam patted my shoulder and sat down.

“I didn’t know we were meeting out here tonight,” Shaun spoke as he took a seat next to Sam.

“I just canceled our honeymoon in Cabo.”

“What? Why?” Sam asked.

“Apparently, your mother and her new man are leaving for Cabo the day after the wedding.”

“Oh shit,” Shaun spoke.

“And how do you know this?” Simon asked.

“Ella told Georgia that Aunt Barb told her, and now Georgia insisted that I cancel and find somewhere else.”

“I’m sorry, Jackson,” Shaun said. “The plane will take you anywhere you want to go. Just let me know.”

“That is total bullshit.” Simon shook his head. “Did she know that’s where you were spending your honeymoon?”

“I didn’t tell her, and I don’t think Georgia did either.”

“And why the hell is she going with this guy anyway?” Sam asked. “She barely knows him.”

“You act like this is something new for her,” Simon said.

“So, where are you thinking?” Shaun asked.

“I have no clue.”

“Think about it for a minute. Did Georgia ever mention somewhere she wanted to go or see?” Sam asked.

“She did mention she wanted to go to Greece once.”

“There you have it,” Simon said. “Go to Santorini. I hear it’s beautiful there.”

“It is,” Shaun said. “I’d take that over Cabo any day. I spent some time there a few years ago. I have a friend who manages the Grace Hotel. Their villas are superb, and the service is one of a kind. I know you and Georgia will love it there. In fact, I’m planning to take Jenni there before the babies are born.”

I pulled it up on my phone and looked at it.

“Wow. This looks beautiful.”

“I can call him right now.” Shaun smiled.

“Do it.” I grinned.

After Shaun called his friend and secured us the top villa, I went back to the house to tell Georgia.

“Babe, where are you?” I shouted through the house.

“Taking a bath,” she shouted.

A smile crossed my lips when I entered our bathroom as she lay in the bubble-filled tub.
