He walked over and wrapped his arms around me.
“It’s good to be home. I’m exhausted.”
“Are you going to join us down at the bonfire?” he asked as his lips brushed softly against mine.
“Yes. But, after Jenni and Shaun announce their news, I’m going to come home, take a hot bath, and climb in bed.”
“What news?” His brows furrowed.
“Shit. You better act surprised.” I jammed my finger into his chest.
“I will.” He chuckled. “What’s going on?”
“I had to do an ultrasound on Jenni today because I heard something when I found the baby’s heartbeat.”
“Jesus. What did you hear?” He asked with concern.
“Two heartbeats.” I grinned.
“What?” He laughed. “They’re having twins?”
“Yes. Baby B was hiding when she came in two weeks ago.”
“Wow. They must be thrilled.”
“Shocked.” I patted his chest. “Very shocked.”

“I bet.” I laughed. “By the way. Boy or girl for Nathan and Sofia?”
The corners of Georgia’s mouth curved up into a cunning smile. “You’ll have to wait to find out tomorrow with everyone else. I’m going upstairs to change. I’ll meet you outside.”
“Oh, come on, babe. Tell me. I won’t tell.” I shouted up the stairs.
“My lips are sealed, Dr. Kind,” she shouted back.
I shook my head with a smile, grabbed my guitar and a six-pack of beer from the fridge, and joined my family on the beach. After Georgia joined us, Jenni and Shaun made their announcement.
“Can I have everyone’s attention,” Jenni stood up.
We all stopped talking and diverted our attention to her.
“Shaun and I have some news to share with you. We found out today that—Shaun, would you like to tell them?” She reached down and grabbed his hand.
“Tell us what? Come on,” Sebastian said.
“Jenni and I found out today that our baby of one is now two. We’re having twins.”
“Shut the fuck up!” Simon shouted as he stood up. “Congrats, Jen.” He hugged her. “Congratulations, my brother.” He pulled Shaun from his seat and hugged him.
After congratulating and hugging both of them, the girls followed Charlotte back to her house, where they would discuss the gender reveal party tomorrow.
“You’re not going home to take a bath and climb in bed?” I asked Georgia.
“I’m going with the girls for a little bit, and then I’ll go home. I’ll see you later.” She kissed my lips.
