“I missed you too, babe.”

“Let’s go to my office.” I grabbed his hand.

The moment we stepped inside, he shut the door and smashed his mouth against mine.

“God, how I’ve missed those sweet lips.” He smiled.

“Not as much as I’ve missed yours.” I kissed him. “How was your flight?”

“It was good. I’m happy to be back in L.A. As nice as Boston is, it was too cold, and there was considerable snow.”

“Well, you’re back now.” I patted his chest. “I made a list of everything we need to do for the wedding. We can go over it tonight. We also need to look at invitations and get them ordered. The Save the Date cards are coming tomorrow, so we need to gather all the addresses and send them out. Then we have to go cake tasting, decide on flowers, pick the menu for dinner, go pick out your wedding band, tuxedos, decide where we’re going on our honeymoon, and get that booked.” I placed my hand on my forehead.

“Babe, relax.” He gripped my hips. “We will do all those things one task at a time. Don’t let your brain get overloaded. I’ll help you with everything.” He kissed my forehead. “I need to get to my office and catch up on some work. Tonight, we’ll celebrate my return.” The corners of his mouth curved upward into a panty-melting smile.

CHAPTER14

Jackson

I changed my clothes when I got home, grabbed a beer from the fridge, and went down to the beach to talk to my brothers and cousins, who were waiting for me.

“Welcome home, cousin.” Sam smiled as he held up his beer bottle.

“Thanks.” I took a seat next to Christian and Nathan.

“How was the conference?” Shaun asked.

“It was good.” I tipped the bottle to my lips.

“Where’s Georgia? I figured the two of you would be locked up in your bedroom for the night.” Conner smirked.

“She’s at the hospital. One of her patients is in labor.”

“Hi, Uncle Jackson.” Ella walked over and climbed on my lap.

“Hi, sweetheart.”

“I’m so excited about tomorrow.” A bright grin crossed her face.

“I know you are. I’ll pick you up around six a.m., so be ready.”

“Oh, I will be.” She hugged me. “How is Dr. Grayson Kind?”

“Fine. I guess.” I furrowed my brows. “Why?”

“He reminds me of all of you and has the same last name as us.”

“Doesn’t mean anything, kiddo,” Simon spoke. “A lot of people have the same last name and aren’t related.”

“I know. I guess you’re just not ready to hear my thoughts about him. I’m going to take a bath.” She jumped off my lap.

“Ella, get back here!” Simon shouted. “What are her thoughts, Nathan?”

“How the hell do I know? She didn’t say anything to me about him.”

“You said you had dinner with Grayson,” Stefan said. “What’s his story?”

“All I know is he and his brother grew up in Hawaii with his dad. Apparently, his mother passed away when they were babies.”
