“I am Zumu Fen.”

“Thank you, Madame Fen, but I do not want a relationship I do not have.” She inclined her head and released Madame Fen’s hand. Her face was held, and she looked into the smaller woman’s eyes.

“Electric blue and lightning. Lovely black hair. A face for the ages. You and Feng will make lovely children.”

She remained quiet and knew what would happen if she said she was already pregnant. She kept her mouth shut.

Feng was an idiot. “We already have.”

Madame Fen escorted her to the table and showed her where to sit.

She was thankful that she was allowed to start eating.

His grandmother said what she hoped she wouldn’t. “So, do you know when it happened?”

Feng nodded. “She was in heat nearly a month ago.”

His grandmother’s eyes grew dreamy. “Was it wonderful? It is always good for a child to begin well.”

Feng grew quiet. Olly was silent.

“Well?”

“I was in room eight-oh-eight. So that was auspicious. The rest was efficient.” She smiled slightly and kept eating.

“I didn’t know it was her first time. She wasn’t ready, and I wasn’t truly focused on her. There was a lot of blood, and she left as soon as her heat subsided.”

She got more stir fry. “I bled for four days. So. It is an interesting conception story. I don’t think it will be shared with the child.”

Madame Fen was pale. “If you left, why are you together now?”

“I called him. I promised I would, so I did. He gave me his manager’s number.” She paused. “My brother-in-law met with him and Benjiro. They agreed to take me on.”

Benjiro smiled. “It was an honour, and Minoru thought she should have one mate that looked at her with affection.”

Feng nodded. “He’s right. I am also snapping out of the egotism fostered at the arena.”

“If you had taken on the omega I found for you, there would have been no bleeding.”

“Olly had managed to meditate through her heat. I didn’t realize she had controlled it to a low simmer. I gave her no kissing, touching, or any sweet words. Even an omega would have had issues with that.”

Taio grimaced. “Zumu Fen, his attitude is my fault.”

Olly sat there as the details came out and continued to eat. She snagged a bao bun and covered it with hot sauce. Taio chuckled as she segmented it and popped it into her mouth.

When Feng asked, he passed his phone to Zumu Fen. Taio was so busy watching her that when Fen said, “And what is this?” He jerked in surprise. “Oh, Zumu Fen. Sorry. I was taking some pictures this morning.”

Olly paused with a bite halfway to her mouth. “You didn’t.”

Fen nodded. “Oh, he did. Feng should buy him a better phone. These pictures could have been displaying quality if they had more pixels.”

Feng looked at Taio and shook his head. “She’s right. You need a better phone if you are going to be doing that in the small hours.”

Benjiro asked, “May I see?”

Olly kept stuffing her face.

Benjiro smiled. “It is a lovely picture and a discrete angle. Would you like to see, Olly?”
