Her thickly lashed eyes were glowing with soft jade to the point were they cast shadows on her cheeks.

Polly snugged against Minoru, smiled, and opened a lacquered box filled with gleaming treats. Olly made a small sound, darted to her sister’s side, and took the chopsticks handed to her. Feng’s jaw dropped when he saw how much wasabi she put on the eel, and she inhaled through her nose while blinking.

She chewed, swallowed, and did it again.

Feng took his seat and shook his head. He resumed eating, and Benjiro smiled. “It seems that Taio had the right idea. She does look more comfortable healed and dressed.”

Olly looked over to Taio, who had colour in his cheeks. She inclined her head slightly.

Feng didn’t smile, but he felt a flicker of hope. If Taio actually began toseeOlly, it would make it easier for Feng to do the same.

Things were looking up.

Chapter Three

Olly sat on the edge of the pool so that Benjiro and Feng could take in her mark. Benjiro started laughing.

She turned her head toward him. He got out of the hot spring with a rush of water, and she blushed as he walked over. He trailed his finger over the dragon. “This is the dragon, but this,” he traced around and under the dragon, “is a series of storm clouds surrounding it.”

She groaned. “Great, I have a yakuza tattoo.”

He laughed. “Not quite, but it looks more complete.”

“Is there room for anyone else back there?”

He laughed and kissed her shoulder. “No. I am taking up all the open room.”

She sighed in relief. “Good.”

Polly chuckled. “Oh, Jess, Caber, and Melbourne are coming to check on you tomorrow, Olly. They are bringing your motorcycle.”

Olly grinned. “Yay.”

Benjiro frowned. “Wait. Caber? Does he have horses?”

“Yeah, big ones. I even got to deliver one filly. I have smaller hands than Caber. I think the mare was relieved. I was careful and thinking forward. I treated her like I wanted to be treated.”

He laughed.

“Now, get back in the hot spring. You might shrink or grow. I don’t know what the options are, but get it under the water.”

Polly laughed, and the men snickered.

Olly blushed and sank into the tepid pool with Polly. There was one thing in the world she wasn’t prepared to deal with, so violence was her normal response. Men with romance on the mind freaked her out. And if that erection was what he normally carried around, she had a right to be freaked out. It didn’t have the scales that Feng did, but the size was similar.

Polly nudged her. “Still have that issue?”

“Yup.”

“Oh, dear. And you are facing two and a half of them.”

Taio must have been listening because he said, “Hey!”

Olly fought her smile. “She didn’t mean you, Taio.”

Polly turned and looked at him. “I totally did.”

Minoru made a chuffing sound.
