Meghan, who seems to have had enough of the shared adventure to go around, withdraws her hand with a frown.

“Why do you have tears in your eyes?”

I shake my head at her and look away with a laugh as I pick up my tepid cup of coffee and take a sip. I wince when it slides down my throat.

Meghan turns back to signal to the waiter for a second cup of coffee. As she turns back to me, there's a look in her eyes as she says, “I am hoping I can get you another coffee so you can tell me how it went down with Sebastian.”

I laugh as I shake my head.

“No way that's happening,” I say, squirming a little at the memory of how Sebastian had taken me against the wall by the window. Just as he'd said.

“You're thinking about it, aren't you?”

“I'm not.”

Meghan looks unimpressed.

“You should know better than to lie to me. Your pupils have dilated.”

“Oh, God,” I say as I allow my head to clonk on the table with a groan. “Leave me alone, Meghan.”
