“This would be that? Like our morning sex that we were robbed of, right now?”

She wanted justification and I was giving it to her like a billion dollar salesman. “Exactly. It’s a conscious decision to end our sexual relationship moving forward.”

“By having sex?”

“Yes.” I wasn’t even buying this and I wanted nothing more on the planet than to roll on top of Faith and touch every single inch of her with my tongue.

But she surprised me by saying, “That honestly makes a lot of sense.”

It made no sense but I wasn’t going to argue.

Her leg brushed against mine as she inched closer to me.

“What are you wearing?” I asked. That had been bare skin.

“Just my T-shirt.”

“Panties?”

She shook her head no. “It’s healthier to sleep without panties.”

I gritted my teeth. She was killing me. “Being healthy is important.”

I thought she was on the verge of going for us doing this thing, but I wasn’t one hundred percent.

“Just tonight, right? Then we stop all of this and just be boss and employee.”

“Of course.” I wasn’t even lying. That was the plan. But Faith and I were really lousy at making plans. It was like basically a guarantee that if we agreed to turn right we’d go left.

“Plus, we can’t sleep,” I added. “Sex is great for relieving anxiety.”

“That’s true too,” she said.

I threw the pillow I’d put between us onto the floor. “How are we doing on justifications? Is the count high enough?”

Faith nodded. “I think so.”

I shifted closer to her. “I need a definitive yes or no.”

She didn’t even hesitate. “Yes.”

It took me exactly no seconds to pull her straight up against me, my hand gripping her ass.

She gasped. “Holy shit, you’rereallyhard already.”

It was about three hours in the making. Actually, make that three months. “I need to be. If this is closure we should do a little of everything.”

Her eyes widened. “That sounds time consuming.”

“We have all night.”

“It’s already midnight.”

“Then we’d better get started.”

I cupped her cheeks with my palms and kissed her. I’d missed those lips. I’d dreamed about those lips. I loved those lips.

Easing back to look at her, take in her features, I saw the desire in her eyes.
