“There’s a lot to fill you in on, B,” I said, one-handedly adding pizza slices onto a plate.

“Everything,” she breathed, gazing up at me. “I want to know everything.”

“Okay, I take it back,” Zane said. “This is pretty fucking epic.”

We’d moved things outside, to Miller’s patio. There was a decent sized pool, and a hot tub on the corner of the deck, surrounded by a gazebo strung with twinkle lights. Miller had turned it on earlier when the girls said they wanted to take a dip later.

Zane was sprawled out on a heated lounger, drinking Miller’s beer and eating his snacks. The fact he was high on Miller’s weed probably had something to do with his good mood.

Harleigh nuzzled my neck, wrapping herself tighter around my body. She’d barely left my side, some part of her always touching some part of me. Not that I was complaining.

“Please tell me you’re not planning on going in there with the girls,” I whispered, running my hand down her spine, loving how she shuddered beneath my touch.

“I don’t have a swimsuit.”

“Neither do they.” I flicked my head to where Celeste and Chloe were half-naked, sitting on the edge of the pool.

Kye grumbled something under his breath, and Harleigh chuckled.

“At least she’s safe here. She could be at some party, drunk, taking off her clothes—”

“Whoa, whoa whoa, B, that’s my little sister you’re talking about.”

“Doesn’t look so little to me anymore.”

“B has a point,” I added with a smirk.

Kye flipped me off and got up. “I need another drink.”

“Mulligan doesn’t seem so happy that his girl is enjoying herself.”

Zane looked over, shrugging. “They can both go fuck themselves.”

“Yeah, okay. Because you aren’t—”

“I swear to fucking God, Nix. Just because I’m flying right now doesn’t mean I won’t kick your ass six ways from Sunday.”

“I’d like to see you try.”

“Your boy’s weed is some good shit, B.”

Anger zipped down my spine and Zane grinned. Even high, the fucker knew exactly what he was doing.

“Nix,” Harleigh said, her lips so close to my jaw it felt like she was kissing me. I stilled, my heart racing, my fingers digging into her hip as she hovered there, taunting me.

“Yeah, B?” I said, unflinching as the air crackled around us.

“He’s not my boy, you know.” Her voice was low, sultry, doing all kinds of weird shit to my insides.

“Oh yeah, how’s that?”

I wasn’t breathing or I was pretty sure I couldn’t breathe as the seconds ticked by, each one slower than before.

“Because…” she whispered the word onto my jaw, ghosting her lips over my skin. “You’re my boy, you always have been.”

Fuck.

She was going to kill me.
