My brother groans. “I’m going to fly home next week. Do my fucking job. Love the life I’ve worked my arse off for.”

I grab him by the shoulder and turn him to face me, staring straight into eyes as blue as mine. “I know it’s hard, Ash. But it’s worth it.” My fingers dig into his bicep. “When you find the right person, I promise you it’s worth it.”

He holds my stare for a long time.

I release him, cross to the dance floor, and cut in on the girls. “Excuse me, ladies. You have something that belongs to me.”

Rae’s lips curve as she takes me in. My bride’s eyes flash as I pull her into my arms. Her curves are tantalizing through the fabric of our clothes.

“Well?” I prompt.

“It’s been a hell of a day. Good thing you didn’t rip the dress on the way over,” she murmurs.

“I was a model of restraint.”

“I still have the door handle imprinted on my back.”

Even in a limo, working her dress off so I could take my wife for the first time since saying our vows required some maneuvering.

It was worth it to have her skin slip against mine, to feel our rings clash on our laced fingers, to watch her eyes change color when she came.

“That was only the beginning,” I promise. I lower my lips to hers and kiss her slowly, as if we have all night.

Because we do.

We have forever.

“Jax and Haley’s children are charming,” I say against her mouth. “Perhaps we should work on some of our own.”

“I’m twenty-seven, and I finished my residency last week. We’re not getting pregnant.”

I brush a thumb across her cheek. “Then we’ll keep practicing with the utmost seriousness.”

She stares me down, and I can’t resist kissing her again.
