“That would’ve been no fun at all.”

His blue eyes dance. “Thank you.”

“For what?”

“For this day. For everything you’ve done for me and for Harry. You’ve made him whole.” There’s longing in Ash's voice, like he’s looking for the same thing.

My throat is tight as I brush a finger over his bowtie. “None of us are whole, Ash. We just meet other people who see our empty spaces and have more compassion for them than we do.”

His smile is enigmatic. “Perhaps. But my brother dragged us out into the desert to find the ring you chose for him. If that’s not love, I don’t know what is.”

“We need to go!” Elle hollers, stepping into her shoes.

“Listen,” Ash says, lowering his voice. “About the venue, there’s been a slight change of plans.”

“What are you talking about?”

He reaches for a bundle of flowers and pulls them out of vases around the suite.

“I thought the estate had flowers?”

“We’re not going to the estate. Now"—he checks his Omega watch with a grin—"we have a wedding to start, and we’d better not keep the King waiting.”
