In all my years of taking on dirty jobs, killing people who need it, I’ve never wanted to commit murder for the sheer pleasure of it. But this entire trip has become nothing but that, and I’m learning about a side of myself that I had no idea existed. I will kill for her. Torture a man. And as I stand in front of an unconscious Judas, I find what I’m about to do the most satisfying moment of my life.

Stabbing my blade into his chest, his eyes pop open and horror washes through them as he realizes I’m about to slice through his sternum. The strength is inhuman as I repeat the action over and over until I’ve broken his ribs and exposed his pounding heart. Gripping the organ in my fist, his screams make my ears ring until I rip it free from his chest. Blood gushes through my fingers, landing on the floor as the rest drains from his body.

The silence is deafening as I stand over his lifeless body. He shouldn’t have touched her. Nobody is allowed to touch her. Because she’s fucking mine. There is nothing in this world I won’t incinerate to keep Isabel safe from the nastiness surrounding her.

Dropping the organ on the ground, I spin back around to see Isabel’s shaking body in the doorway. Face stark white, shirt covered in blood. Eyes wide and filled with something I can’t quite discern.

“Dolce,” I whisper the nickname I couldn’t help but give her.

“Pace.” The way she murmurs my name has my feet moving towards her before I make the conscious decision to.

Picking her up behind her thighs, I carry her out of the room. Our eyes never stray from one another, and when she brings her hands up to cup my face, lowering hers so our lips touch, an emotion akin to acceptance and love washes over me. Something I don’t deserve, let alone from someone as pure as my girl.

“You ripped out his heart.” There’s awe in her voice.

“I’m a monster.” I wasn’t lying the first time I said that to her. There are no boundaries to what I’ll do. Who I’ll kill.Hell.I killed a handful of nuns today. I plan to kill a priest. I’m worse than a monster. “You shouldn’t let me touch you.”

“You keep saving me.” Her tongue peeks out to lick across my mouth. When she leans back as I press her against the wall, I see her palms covered in blood as she pulls the shirt off the same way I did. “You’d do anything for me.”

“Of course.” I know it’s not a question, but I need to make certain she knows it’s true.

“So let me love you. Let me give you everything you’d never ask for nor take for yourself.”Christ,I don’t deserve her. Nobody does.

Her hands move down to unbuckle my pants, and I don’t stop her. I think that makes me even more despicable. But I’m helpless when it comes to Isabel. I want every ounce of light she’ll share with me until she realizes she deserves better, or I die. Whichever comes first.

Slipping my aching cock into her heavenly cunt, I’m blind with desire. My hips move to their own beat as I take her lips again. “Pace, please,” she begs, and it’s music to my ears.

Fucking the girl of my dreams while I’m covered in blood, she’s injured, and there are dead bodies in another room is the most bastardly thing I’ve done in my life, but for us, it’s fucking perfect.

Isabel isperfectas she comes apart for me so sweetly. Screaming out my name and digging her nails into my shoulders as she shudders and shakes against my chest. I follow soon after, and when she smiles up at me, I know I’m going to do my damnedest to be good enough for her.

CHAPTER6

Isabel

“I’m fine, Isabel.” The girl’s pale skin and shaking hands beg to differ.

I didn’t need anyone to tell me something atrocious happened in this penthouse. The pools of red on the floor spoke volumes. Daia wouldn’t even come out of the bathroom until I coaxed her with the promise that Pace was cleaning up the grizzly sight. And true to my word, he’d finished before we made it into the room.

Sitting down now, on the stools at the counter with her hands still in mine, I look to Pace. “What do we do now?” We’ve both showered and cleaned, but as he stands with his arms crossed, leaning against the wall, I almost miss the obsessive way he made love to me in the house of horrors. Despite the carnage left in our wake, I felt love blossom from him, and I want more of it.

“That depends on you.” Daia and I share a look. “Do you two want to go back to your parents, or do you want to move on? Start a new life over somewhere else away from here.”

“You know where they are?” I never dreamed of seeing my mother again. I only know that she gave me away. I’m not even sure if I have a father.

“I know as much as we’re ever going to right now.” That sounds slightly ominous. “I know your mother isn’t who you were told she was. She’s not perfect, but she’s never stopped looking for you.” Tears clog my throat at his words. I had no idea.

Daia’s hand flexes in mine before she pulls away. “What?” Pace barks out, and I realize that’s just how he speaks. He prefers everything be out on the table. No deception, no hidden agenda. He wants all the information.

“I want Benny,” she eventually answers.

Benito Torres? He’s been around the church for a couple of years now, but I’m not certain why. I know he’s met Daia, but he never showed her much attention. I could be missing something, though.

“Benito Torres?” Pace guesses. “He’s as corrupt as they come. Why?” She shrugs.

Leaving the room with his phone in his hand, I try to get her to open up to me, but she remains silent as we hear Pace’s voice in the other room.

“What are you going to do, Isa?”
