While we’re walking to her car, I reach into my pocket and call Christian. “Boss?” His tone holds a question.

Right now, I’m not telling anyone. This is just for Raylee and I. “I’m driving Raylee’s car, meet us back at the house.”

“On it,” he replies and I end the call.

“Ready?” I ask her as we reach her car.

She nods. “Let’s go home.”

“When dowe leave for New York?” she asks. We’re lying in bed. As soon as we arrived home, I ordered dinner for us and made sure that she didn’t move off the sofa. She hates being immobile but I’ll be damned if she’s lifting a fucking finger.

“Next week, Da’s organizing the flights and shit.”

She nods, her eyes still red and puffy. She’s still the most beautiful woman in the world. “I hate what Jade’s going through. The fact that those monsters are getting away with it.” She shakes her head in disgust. “They should be strung up by their balls.”

I wince at the thought. “Yeah,mo stór, they should be.” And a fucking whole lot worse.

“We’ll arrive in New York and then travel to Chicago.” Her gorgeous golden eyes light up. She’s always wanted to travel America, we just never got the chance. “Jade will be getting engaged when she’s released.”

She blinks hard. “I’m sorry, what?” she hisses, rage and disgust swirling in her eyes. “She’s been raped so your family decided that the best thing for her is to be married off? For fuck’s sake, what the hell is wrong with you lot?”

I hide my smirk. Again, this is exactly what we’re all thinking. “Granda Henry has put his foot down and you know, baby, when the king has spoken, everyone must obey.”

She scoffs. “When I see him, he’ll be getting a piece of my mind.”

I chuckle. “You’ll have to get in line, baby, Callie’s already done it. Makenna, Melissa, and Holly are ready to kill him. Destiny, well, she’s offered to have her cousin’s men take out Jade’s fiancé.”

“Damn, I love that girl. She looks pure innocent, but mess with her and watch your back. She’ll kill you without a second thought.” She smiles brightly. “It’s been a while since I’ve seen the women. It’ll be nice to catch up.”

“Yeah, the women are missing you. They complain whenever I arrive without you.”

She gives me a pointed stare. “Then don’t go without me.”

I pull her closer to me. “Never again,mo stór, never again.”

She runs her fingers through my hair. “Do you miss them?” she asks softly.

I know who she’s talking about and just the thought of those traitors makes my anger rise. “No, they chose their sides and in doing so they made their beds. They got everything they deserved.”

She nods in agreement. “I just hate that it caused you all so much pain.”

Having two family members betray you the way ours did will do that.

“They’re gone now, and they can’t hurt anyone else.”

She snuggles against my chest. “I’m sorry, I was kind of bitchy,” she says.

I kiss the top of her head. “Baby, you’re pregnant, your emotions are all over the place and I have been acting like a bastard. You weren’t bitchy. You were upset.”

“I know, but I shouldn’t have snapped at you.”

I hold her tighter. “Yeah,mo stór, you should have. You made me realize that what I was doing was wrong and it was hurting you. It’s not going to happen again.”

“Good,” she replies, pressing a kiss against my chest. “I love you, Malcolm.” Her voice is sleepy.

“I love you too, baby.”

It doesn't take long for her breathing to even out. I hold her tightly against me throughout the night, not willing to let her go. Scared that anything could happen to her or our baby that she’s carrying.

Eight months later, Killian Kiro Gallagher was born.
