“Goddamn, I love how wet you get for me.” I clenched around him as he continued to fuck me hard and fast with his fingers. “Let it go. Give me that sweet release, gorgeous.”

“Almost there.” I was so close to coming.

“This isn’t enough. I need to taste you.” He got on his knees and I gripped his hair to hang on as the pier railing shook. “Pull your skirt up.”

I hoisted my skirt around my waist with one hand while I held on to the back of his head with the other. He ran his tongue up my thigh as he worked his way toward the place I wanted him most. The stubble on his jaw scraped along my skin, drawing out a moan.

Spreading me wider, he didn’t waste any time teasing me or building me up. He dove right in, licking and sucking on me until I panted his name. He drank me down, his groans of pleasure urging me on, bringing me right to the edge. A clear light with a pearlescent sheen erupted from my palms, painting the beach in a dazzling sparkle of light.

“Come for me, gorgeous.” It wasn’t a request. It was the plea of a desperate man who got off on getting me off. “Need to feel it. Now.”

Finn’s name shuddered from my lips as my whole body shook from the orgasm that shut out everything except the feel of him. His tongue, his fingers, the deep groan of satisfaction he released as my inner walls hugged his fingers.

He stood and crushed his lips against mine. The taste of me on his lips nearly sent me over the edge again. I’d just had a shattering orgasm, and still, I wanted more. Would I ever get enough of Finn? I’d wanted him for so long, I didn’t know what it felt like not to want him. It was as much a part of me as my magic.

I pulled his cock free, giving it a few strokes before I guided him into me. He buried his face in my neck, kissing me and whispering soft words as he thrust into me. I held him, my breath speeding up. Magic glowing brightly from both our palms as he drove me higher. It didn’t take long for either of us. With one more hard thrust, he found his release deep inside me as my walls fluttered around him, squeezing him tight.

He kissed my neck and shoulder as we straightened our clothes. “Contrary to how this looks, I didn’t bring you out here to fuck you on the pier.”

“Oh, yeah?” I gave him a half-smile. “Then why did you bring me out here?”

“For this.” He pulled out the dusty black box I’d found in his closet. “I figured it was about damn time I gave this to you.”

I covered my mouth with my hands as he flipped open the lid. The same ring I’d run from was nestled in the velvet. The ring that had always been meant for me.

He pulled it out and held it up. The small diamond twinkling under the light of the moon. It was perfect. “I thought about buying you a bigger one, something flashier, but that’s not you and that’s not us. I know we’ve only been back together for a short time, but I’m not going to stand beside you day in and day out pretending like I don’t know what I want. From that first moment I saw you in the art room twelve years ago, I knew I belonged to you. Simple as that. I’m not interested in wasting any more time. Will you finally put me out of my misery and do me the honor of becoming my wife?”

“Yes.” Tears blurred my vision as I pulled him closer and kissed him. “I love you, Finn Wilder. And I’ve always belonged to you, too.”

He slipped the ring on my finger and our magic burst into the air, creating a small fireworks show over the dark water. I was so glad he hadn’t gone for something else, that he gave me the ring that had been intended for me seven years ago. We’d come full circle and that feeling of being whole and complete settled over my heart.

As we stood on the pier, kissing and laughing and planning the life we would have together, dark clouds covered the moon. A giant wave of smoke and water barreled toward the shore. Within a blink, we stood halfway between the town and the ocean.

The wave hit the beach with a crash hard enough to shift the sand. As it receded into the sea, it uncovered what it had been carrying. Thousands of dead and dying fish lined the shoreline. Their mouths opened and closed as they choked on the air.

Finn and I glanced at each other.

Looked like the next phase of the legend had officially begun.

I hoped Violet and Donovan were ready.
