"Loch Fairbairn has only one restaurant."

"Then we'll go there, obviously. I'll drive."

I slap my hand on the door when she tries to open it. "Do ye even know where the café is?"

"No," she says slowly. "But I can look it up on Google Maps."

"Donnae need that." I tap my temple. "I'm your map of Scotland. That means I will drive."

She drums the toe of one shoe on the wood floor in a rapid rhythm ,while she puckers her lips a wee bit. Then she huffs and throws her arms up. "Fine. You can drive."

"Thank you, Ashley. As a consolation prize, I'll let you pick the location for our next shag."

She rolls her eyes again. "Ugh. Do ever think about anything else?"

"Not since we kissed in the castle, and especially not since last night." I peck a quick kiss on her lips. "Here's your lesson in Scottish etiquette for today. Donnae swallow a Highlander's cock unless you want him to keep trying to seduce you forever after."

"A little late to share that nugget of wisdom."

I remove my hand from the door.

She yanks it open and stalks outside.

Oh aye, we'll be shagging again for certain.

Chapter Ten

Ashley

Once we've climbed into Errol's car, he announces that I'd better "buckle up good and tight because this will be a wild ride." He's trying to unnerve me, but it won't work. His implication that he will drive too fast and terrify me is, I'm sure, just payback for the fact I refuse to have sex with him again. Errol doesn't seem like the vengeful type, though. Still, he must be teasing me again. Wild ride? The term applied that night at the castle when we, um, did things I never imagined I would do. Not outdoors. Well, probably not indoors either.

Okay, I've never been the adventurous type. I can admit to that. But Errol makes me feel…things that kind of terrify me, but also excite me at the same time.

Errol starts up the engine and pulls out onto the street.

Well, this doesn't seem terrifying. Wild ride? Yeah, right.

Then he floors the accelerator, and the car rockets forward, pinning me to my seat.

"Why are you driving so fast?" I ask. My voice might have risen an octave or two.

"Ahmno driving fast." He grins at me. "Would ye like to see me really go fast?"

"No, I would not."

He veers around a corner. I'm thrown into the door, and the portfolio flies off my lap, scattering the papers on the floor between my feet.

Errol holds the wheel with one hand while looking directly at me. "Relax, lass, I'm an expert driver. Never had an accident or got a point on my driving license."

"A what on your what?" Now I might be screeching. Can't help it.

"On my license. Bad driving will get you points, and if you accrue too many, they won't let you drive anymore."

How can he not have gotten the maximum number of points if he drives like this?

"Look at that," he says while continuing to drive with one hand. But now he's looking out my window. "That's Mungo Gunn's house. He used to have a diary that belonged to my ancestor, Efrica MacTaggart, but he gave it to my cousin Kirsty. It's a fascinating story. You see, Mungo thought his family was cursed—"

"Watch where you're going, Errol. Please."
