Which in our case was the Forbidden Pack.

All of this felt like a ticking time bomb, and it was only going to be a matter of time before everything was turned upside down.

"Can we go now?" I grunted as I finished my doodle of myself stabbing Dimitris before slicing his dick off. Viktor leaned over to get a better look at my image.

"Why do I have a feeling you're going to cut someone's cock off at some point in time?"

"I will," I vowed and began to clean my desk. "Today really can't get any worse."

"Fed up?"

"Very," I admitted and pinched my nose. "I think I'll take tomorrow off."

"You're not feeling well?"

"Not sure," I admitted. "Either I'm pushing myself a little too hard, or I'm gonna have to ask Aurelia to reassess my meds to see if they're working properly."

"Your last assessment was before the fall. First of September."

"I know," I replied and closed my eyes for a moment as I leaned my head back out of exhaustion. The nights I wasn't cuddled in Onyx’s arms were full of nightmares that were beginning to impact my overall performance. I was sure he and Victor had noticed my increased irritability but didn't want to inquire about it further.

There could be so many things contributing to my irritation, but I was pretty positive the increased stress and tension of this place were taking their toll on my mind and body.

"William."

I didn't realize Victor was behind me until I opened my eyes and saw his upside-down figure with his hand pressed against my forehead.

"You could be developing a fever," he admitted with a frown.

"That sucks," I huffed. "It ain't stopping me from fighting though."

"I know," he replied, but didn't seem pleased. "If it gets worse though, you're going home."

"Ya, ya," I muttered. "Can we go yet? Would be fifteen minutes early, but I don't care."

"It's already six," he revealed, which made me question him with my scrunched expression. He followed with, "I let you have a fifteen-minute power nap."

"I fell asleep?" That was a first. I had to lift my hands to see if I was still William and hadn't switched back.

"Ya, you did. Figured you needed a bit of rest," he answered before he looked to the door and frowned. That told me someone was here. Not a second later did someone knock on the door.

"Enter!" I commanded and sat up, masking my exhaustion, as a slim dude in a white dress shirt and blue jeans opened the door and peeked through.

"Think you’ve got the wrong room," Viktor announced, but the guy quickly shook his head as he slipped into the room and smiled warily at us.

"Hello! Uh...I'm Garfield!" he announced nervously. I stared at him blankly, taking in his almost vampire-pale skin, orange hair, freckles, and slim frame. He could be hiding some muscle but it was hard to tell. I noticed the holster on the side of his waist, which told me he'd been trained to do something, but I didn't know how that involved me.

Viktor took the lead in questioning. "Why are you here?" He got straight to the point as he narrowed his eyes and changed posture to be on guard for anything.

"I'm the security hired by Mr. Moore. He instructed me to introduce myself with my team, but the security would only allow me in."

"Team?" Viktor questioned.

"Two other security guards who will survey the buildings for threats before the end of William De Luca's shift and a backup driver just in case his current driver is occupied," Garfield explained.

"Were you named after that orange fat cat from the classic comics who loved pasta?"

"No, sir," he replied as Viktor gave me one of those "really" looks.
