He made the next move, and I went into defense, but he pushed off the ground, spinning his body, and his feet connected right with my face. I expected my nose to break at least, but the stinging that came from my eyes made me hiss as I fell to the ground.

I wanted to stay there, but I was somehow up and avoiding what I sensed was another illegal move. It hit me right where my gunshot wound would have been visible if it had not been "healed". The phantom pain came surging back but I fell to my hands and knees before rolling to avoid the slamming of his feet.

"PAUSE!" the ref called out, which made everyone groan and complain. They couldn't act like they hadn't seen what just happened, which gave me the opportunity to rise up and recover from the triple threat of a blow.

If I hadn't moved on time, his feet would have splashed into my head - finishing whatever move that was. Clearly this wasn’t the way he typically fought, and I was a little angry that he was using foreign moves in the ring.

Been there, done that, but if he was going to play ugly, so would I.

The ref came over to me, but I struggled to open my eyes.

Great.

"Willow, you okay?" he whispered as he patted my back.

"Aside from him using something on my eyes?" I reasoned and he cursed under his breath before leaning in to whisper, "Someone paid for no penalties."

What. The. Flying. Fuck?

"Why wasn't I told?" I hissed lowly and wished I could open my eyes to glare. I rubbed at them and tried to pry them open to blink, but I could smell the hint of blood dripping down my face from the impact, and I could hear a few gasps in the crowd and words of worry.

"Fuck. Your eyes," he hissed, but I brushed him off when I sensed his movement to try and help me.

"What are the official rules for this match?" I said it louder now, needing to get confirmation.

He hesitated before announcing, "Tonight’s match consists of no penalties with foul play, magic usage, and illegal moves."

That made multiple people gasp in shock and anger, since none of that had been announced before they placed their bets.

"Fuck! Why weren't we told, dammit?"

"Oh shit. She's fucked."

"Yo. Someone should get her a medic for her eyes."

"Bruh, that's some sneaky shit! Boss! What the fuck?!"

Multiple people were as furious as I was, and yet I bit my lip hard to ignore the coursing rage beginning to boil and rise.

"I need a minute," I huffed and I found my way to the corner. I expected to be alone, but I felt a touch to my face that was far softer than what I'd feel from Onyx and Viktor.

My black vision bothered me, but for a split second, I saw red. Beautiful hues of red that seemed to blend perfectly with the black until the word left my lips.

"Neo?"

"Good girl." His soft praise seemed to move my heart as I swallowed the lump in my throat while ignoring the stinging fury in my eyes that continued to make them bleed.

"Tell me I'm not losing my eyes, because that would suck and I haven't been able to see Dimitris get his ass kicked by my fists."

There was a chuckle in the crowd and it reminded me of Jayce. Turning my head in that direction, I suddenly saw the gold hues with bits of blue and even green. It was odd to watch as the flaming aura seemed to create a silhouette of his body figure, lighting up the people around his personal space.

I returned my gaze to Neo, but the longer I kept my focus on him, the more color began to bleed into view until I could see him clearly, as if my eyes weren't closed and bleeding.

"Why can I see you?"

He said nothing at first before leaning in closer. "You can ‘see’ me?"

"Yes...but my eyes are closed and your energy is still vibrant as hell," I admitted. "I know we don't have time, but if this is what you see on the regular, that's fucking cool...and hot...and whatever."
