“Your fucking gun, where is it?!”

“In my car, what’s going on?” he asks in a panic.

She doesn’t stop, she goes out to Jake’s car in a hurried step. We both follow. “Volkov.” She takes a short breath. “He’s got Nate.”

“Whoa, what are you doing?” he says as she opens the door and looks for the gun. “You’re not going to confront Volkov,” he raises his voice at her.

“I’m not having an argument with you now, Jake. Either you drive, or you fucking leave, but don’t delay me.”

“How do you know?” he insists.

“Because they called Sam and I was with him. He left me to go get him. This is a giant fucking trap to kill the biggest guys that work with Bianco.” She pauses, looks at her twin in the eyes, and continues. “I can’t, Jake…I can’t let him die.”

Jake takes a moment, hesitation and hatred too strong in his eyes.

Then he nods. “Let’s go. Jamie, go back inside.” He turns to where he thinks I am, right behind him. He didn’t realize I was already at the back of the car. “Jamie,” he snaps.

“Stop wasting time! Just get in the car,” I scold.

“Where are they?” Jake asks as he takes the wheel.

Rose is taking his gun from in-between the driver’s seat and the gearbox, and checking the magazine.

“Ozy, you can’t put yourself in danger, we-”

“They’re at the old painting factory. In one of the hangars,” she cuts him off. “Press the fucking gas pedal,” she hisses.

We get there in record time and the wheels scream as Jake skids to a halt in front of one of the hangars. It’s surrounded by three black cars.

“This is a suicide mission,” Jake whispers.

“Then I’ll fucking die,” Rose rages.

“Ozy, I know you love him, but we’ll all die going in there. We need to think clearly for a fucking second. We need a plan.”

Too late.

“Jake!!!” I shout as one of the black cars suddenly accelerates towards us. It crashes into our left side, the one where Jake is sitting.

Jake turns around straight away. “I’m okay…” I say in a shaken voice.

The impact was hard, but we weren’t moving anymore. Except another car comes from the other side and crashes into us again. This time it hits Rose and me.

I scream in pain as the bit I’m sitting against pushes in and the window shatters, covering me in glass. Something is wrong with my arm, I feel it straight away, the pain is too intense to think.

Two people come out of the cars, one on each side of us and they aim guns at us.

“Great plan, Ozy,” Jake groans. “Pleasure to die in such a stupid fucking way.”

There is no escape from this. We’re dead.

Two bangs ring outside and I squeeze my eyes.

But nothing comes.

Instead, Sam appears with a handgun and opens Rose’s door.

“Get the fuck out of here,” he hisses in fury as he grabs Jake’s gun from her.
