“You’re right,” Rachel whispers. “This is fun.”

“I’m sorry, honey,” Mom says. I can practically see her now, jutting out her bottom lip, her eyes filling with tears. “I’m only trying to help. Planning a wedding is no easy feat.”

I bite back a groan, wishing I hadn’t called. “We’re not getting married,” I say with a frustrated sigh. “Dad was right. Rachel is pregnant. We’re going to have a little girl.”

“A little girl?” Mom breathes. “I’m going to be a grandma to a little girl?”

“Yes,” I say as I hear Dad’s groan.

“I knew it,” Dad says. “You do need money.”

I roll my eyes. “No, I don’t. The book is doing well. My publisher even asked if I could write a sequel.”

“Oh, that’s amazing news!” Mom shouts. “All of it is amazing! I’m so excited for the both of you. When is Rachel due?”

“The 29th,” Rachel says, perking up. “It was supposed to be the end of December, but I’ve had a few complications.”

“The 29th?” Mom asks. “Why, that’s quite soon! Do you have everything? Should we send something?”

“No, Mom,” I say while rolling over in the bed. “We’re fine.”

“I’ll send you some diapers. You can never have enough diapers.”

“We are not sending money,” Dad says.

“I didn’t ask for money, Dad,” I say in frustration. Jesus, the man really needs to let that go.

“We should see if we can come for Christmas,” Mom says cheerfully. “To see our new grand baby.”

Rachel makes a face and shakes her head at me. “No,” she mouths.

Before I can say anything, I hear Dad say, “Done. I just booked it with the pilot. We leave December 23rd.”

Rachel grimaces and I shrug. There’s no way we can stop them. Once my parents have made up their mind about something, it’s very difficult to change it. I know—I’ve tried way too many times to count.

“In the meantime, we will read your book,” Mom says. “I just received it in the mail. I’m sure it’s lovely, Lucas.”

“Thanks, Mom,” I say hesitantly, wondering if they will be able to figure out who the story is about. If Mike was able to do it…then there’s a very high likelihood that others in our life can as well.

Oh, well. That’s for me to worry about later.

As soon as I hang up the phone, Rachel turns to me, a knowing looking in her gaze as she says, “They’re going to figure it out.”

It’s like she can read my mind.

“And how do you know?”

Rachel moves closer to me. She presses her hand against my chest and crawls on top. I bite back a groan. She’ll probably rip my head off if I tell her she’s a bit too heavy to be laying on me like this. However, she’s straddling my hips and pawing at my shirt. There’s no way I’m going to interrupt her. It’s been way too long since we last had sex.

“Well, let me see,” she says while unbuttoning my shirt. “Mike was able to figure it out pretty easily. It didn’t even take him the whole book.” Rachel pushes my shirt open, and I shudder when her fingers stroke up and down my abs.

“That’s only one person,” I breathe as she slides her hands toward my belt.

My cock stiffens while she undoes the buckle and my gaze slides down the length of her, settling on her large breasts. She’s wearing a thin, white nightgown that does very little to hide the curves of her nipples and her belly. I bite back a groan as she slides her hands into my pants, stroking my pulsing cock.

“That’s one too many,” Rachel says tauntingly while she circles my tip.

“Enough,” I breathe.
