She nodded and her eyelids fluttered. “I just figured something out when Mr. Banks pointed the gun at my head.”

He wasn’t sure where she was going with this. Maybe she had some type of breakthrough with the PTSD she was suffering. “Okay.”

Tears rolled down her cheeks as she smiled and said, “I want to marry you.”

Trent froze. He hadn’t expected that at all.

She laughed and then shook her head. “I want to be your wife, Trent Stone. You were right. In critical situations, you have to decide what’s important to you, and that’s all I could think about when the gun was pointed at my head. I want to be with you. Forever. I want to marry you and have children with you and …” A sheepish look crossed her face. “I don’t know about having guns pointed at my head with you, though.”

Trent couldn’t believe it. He shook his head, wondering if he was imagining things. Another surge of adrenaline rushed through him, and he pulled her into him and planted a huge kiss on her mouth.

She wanted to marry him. He was going to get married!

“Enough kissing,” Marshall called out.

Trent was so happy that he didn’t even care about Marshall’s grouching. He threw his head back and whooped, then did a fist pump. “We’re getting married!”

Everyone looked a bit stunned. Then Hunter put his fist in the air. “You’re getting married, bro!”
