“Yes! Shit, would everyone stop asking me that? I wouldn’t lie, not about something like this. Come on, you guys know me.”

“Calm down. We want to be sure; we love you and feel somewhat responsible since we dragged you out last night.” Dane’s grin went crooked. “You weren’t acting yourself, getting into trouble, and choosing punishment? Shit, girl we thought you lost your mind.”

Izzie shook her head, but dug into her breakfast, she was hungry.

“So...” Babs started. “If you’re as good as you say you are, want to go out again, soon?”

“Sure.” She knew if she said no, they’d be suspicious over nothing. She was truly fine.

“I asked Cheyenne if Mr. Jackson, which isn’t his real name, by the way, is staying in town long.”

Izzie looked up from her plate and waited. “And?”

“It’s been said that he doesn’t have anywhere to be anytime soon,” Dane said with a wink.

“Whatever that means,” Babs mumbled around her croissant.

Dane rolled his eyes. “More than likely, it meanshe isn’t leaving any time soon, and we will get to look at his hotness for a bit longer.”

Izzie took interest in this but didn’t want to come off as eager, so she kept her mouth shut.

“Is tonight too soon to go out, Izzie?” Babs grinned.

“Why, are you trying to get in Mr. Jackson’s slacks?” She giggled.

“Slacks?” Babs snorted. “Who saysthatanymore?”

“Duh, I do,” Dane scrunched his nose up. “And I think that man looks mighty nice in hisslacks. He’s always so put together. Even after last—”

Babs jerked her head up and glared at Dane.

Izzie caught on. “Guys, it’s all right, shit how many times do I have to tell you? I’m. O-kay.” She made sure to annunciate each syllable. “Don’t ever mention it again. We can go out; I’m just not playing. I’ll watch.”

Dane shrugged. “Tell me it escaped your notice that Mr. Suit didn’t even have a wrinkle after punishing Izzie?”

“I noticed,” Babs acquiesced.

“He only removed his tie and jacket beforehand,” Izzie offered.

“Really? Do tell,” Dane said while resting his chin on the palm of his hand like a lovesick puppy.

“After removing them he rolled up his sleeves, and went to work.”

“What’s his voice sound like?” Dane asked, dreamily.

Izzie reflected on their time together. “I honestly don’t know.”

“What?” Babs sputtered. “How long were you with him, and you don’t know? Were you that out of it?”

“No, absolutely not. He just never spoke.”

“How did that work?”

“He mostly just led me to where he wanted me and gestured.

“Seriously?” Dane blinked.

“Yep.”
