Since there’s no way that I would be recognized, I walk straight to the apartment without any issues. I still keep a close watch around me for anything that seems out of place.

As I get to her door on the second floor, I slow down and make sure no one is in the hallway before I quietly unlock the door and walk inside, locking the door behind me.

Not seeing anything amiss as I slowly open the door, I slip inside and immediately find a cat staring up at me. It’s purring loudly before it lets out a loud meow.

Taking a closer look around, I see a brand new pet crate sitting on the floor by the couch. Grabbing it, I gently pick up the feline, even scratching behind her ears before slipping her into the crate.

Thinking I might grab Raven a few clothes too, I head straight to her room.

Seeing a suitcase by the bed, I remember seeing her packing the last night I watched her from the window.

Grabbing it as well as what looks like a bag for all the shit women normally need, I grab the pet crate and head for the door.

That’s when I hear someone messing with the knob as if to check if it’s locked. Without missing a beat, I head to the window in the bedroom, looking out; I don’t see anyone in the alley below.

Setting all the stuff on the fire escape, I climb out too. That’s when I start asking myself how I’m going to get all this shit down that ladder.

Picking up the suitcase and smaller bag, I drop them over the side. If there’s breakable shit in there, she’ll get over it. Grabbing the crate, I go down the ladder as quickly as I can.

Once at the bottom, I pick up the two bags and never stop walking. Hopefully I got away without anyone knowing I was even there.

“All this shit for a fucking cat!” I growl and the cat lets out a loud meow.

Several hours later we are on the road. I can feel every bump as it jars my still bruised body around in the front seat.

Gio tried to make it more comfortable for me by grabbing all the extra pillows for me to sit on. I’m not sure that it’s helping much but I appreciate the gesture.
